Perhaps being a nation recognised by the WG makes doing certain things much easier. An actual King is unlikely to be chased around the world by the WG, he can move around the Grand Line without having to worry about Seraphim or Admirals plus he'd have leverage to use the WGs resources to help him in his ends, whatever they are. His vision of the new era is unique. He is willing to try and cooperate with anyone, even if their ultimate goals are ultimately incompatible, so long as their roads align temporarily.

blackbeard being a dream eater when he's the guy who doesn't sleep is narratively fitting and poetic. taking in so many devil fruits would be the perfect way for him to lose, and an inverse to nightmare luffy (luffy took in the shadows, bb's shadow takes in everyone's light) and what fits so perfectly with this is that i've always thought that BB's end would be in drowning, dying in the deep darkness of the sea. having multiple devil fruit powers would mean he'd become so powerless in the sea, and his darkness fruit would amplify the pain, which i think would be a perfect and fitting end for BB

I have a relatively weak, but still somewhat plausible, explanation for how BB could expect his crew to awaken so quickly after getting their fruits. If we look at them, the big one gets the giant fruit, the strong one gets the strength fruit, and the sick one gets the sick fruit. They got fruits that already line up well with what they are. If we go based off the notion that fruits awaken when their user's body and mind catch up to their fruit, then these three don't have far to go to catch up since they already are so specialized in what their fruit is about. Unfortunately, this doesn't hold up so well for many of the other crew members from what we know about them so far. An argument can be made, but idk how strong of one

People like to point at Hody Jones as being a bad villain, but thematically, I think he is so so important not just for his arc but for foreshadowing and understanding the three big bads of the series: Blackbeard, Akainu, and Imu. Blackbeard is an empty man, a VOID man, a man unable to dream for himself. This is literally Hody - a Fishman whose entire existence is dedicated to the dream of destroying humans, not out of a personal grudge, but the cultural grudge he's adopted/stolen from others. Fukuboshi even climactically reveals that "Hody is entirely empty... There is so substance within him". Akainu on the other hand, likely has a very good reason for despising pirates so much. His zealotism and hatred is probably earned, yet it is the same unreasonable, blind hatred that Hody demonstrates in Fishman Island. Hody killing any Fishman who sides with humans perfectly mirrors Akainu's brutal willingness to kill any Marine or innocent life that even remotely aides Pirates. Finally, we have Imu, and while the least is known about Imu, I'd wager that the struggle between races we see take place in Fishman Island, the strange all-white transformation Hody becomes resembling Gear-5, and the "betrayal of his own kind" that Hody commits by killing Otohime, will all factor heavily into Imu's plotline.

My favorite "nothing happened" theory is that since Luffy woke up after the fight fully refreshed with his friends telling him 'literally nothing happened' Luffy's imagination then led him to believe that's how his body recovers damage after a small 30 min nap.

Considering that Shanks is death flagged by Blackbeard means there will be only 5 key players in the end: Luffy, Blackbeard, the revolutionaries, the Gov, and Buggy But I can say anything and you glue eating power scalers that only watch/read One Piece for the fights will never understand

I've always said that whenevr we find out what Luffy's dream is, the Jaya quote will definitely come back around and hit us like a truck, or rather a Gura fist to the face, and just like how blackbeard took it to understand the power before stealing it, we will have to taoe the whiplash of forshadowing before truly understanding what Oda is cooking. Whether it be though Dream Eating or though some Punk Records Joyboy Memory madness, that line has a more literal element to it which is why I sense a "I am the future flash" esque moment on the way soon.

Really good video i only missed Fukuro when talking about Blackbeard absorbing the pain to powerscale/ understand his crew and opponents. Fukuro could powerscale all of CP9 by getting kicked. It's also logical why Blackbeard did not let himself get kicked by Boa he was afraid to take the gamble. Boa's power effectivly blocks all electrical signals in the bodypart she turns to stone.

I like the idea that Blackbeard cancels memories to take devil fruit powers away from its user. This notion also aligns with Vegapunk experimenting on Kuma and being able to produce artificial devil fruits. Perhaps he learned how Kuma physically manifest memories to extract users' memories about devil fruits they have eaten. We know Vegapunk can replicate devil fruits (i.e., memories) without the user being dead (similar to what Kuma did with Luffy in Thriller Bark). If this is true, when Blackbeard says his devil fruit can absorb pain, he actually means his devil fruits can absorb memories (which contain [mostly] pain as most flash-back we have seen so far are sad and filled with pain).

I think the perfect final battle would be Luffy vs Blackbeard on Laugh Tale. Luffy using the imagination aspect of his power to emulate the abilities and techniques of all the allies and foes he's fought against/alongside, symbolizing his entire journey and the ambitions and dreams of everyone he's met on the way. While Teach absorbs his crew into his darkness physically absorbing their ambitions and powers into himself, the product of his hard work and scheming finally coming into throughition. If you consider the fact that Rocks D Xebec's also gathered a crew of very strong individuals which didn't really work together or had a bond with each other, with the sole purpose to also consume them in the long run. That would also draw a parallel to Garp + Roger vs Rock's and Ruffy (+ Coby?) vs Blackbear. That would make Ruffy the reincarnation of Roger who was too early, and Blackbeard as Xebecs, who also didn't quite manage to consume his crew, so maybe the second god valley accident will be the true god valley accident with Ruffy being just in time and not too early and blackbeard managing to consume his crew. Although it would be quite weird that Garp etc. didn't recognize Blackbeards dark fruit as Xebec's fruit at Marineford.

it was! but I've been trying to work out a fun new style and this video had so many really cool moments where the scenes matched the script in such a cool way. Overall I liked the vibe of this video. I definitely think Blackbeard's focus on devil fruits and his greed will feed into his defeat somehow- falling into the sea and having no one who can save him would be great. I also like the idea of Blackbeard turning on his crew. I'd never considered it but the theme of the bonds between straw hats is something I just know Teech lacks- plus Belo Betty said as much in her introduction to Momobeard
