@@mikeseadorf4952 the ISF is on around 6 and so are the mids so that’s probably why also a v30 and sm57 are quite mid heavy too But yeah great head can hit every Tone you need I think

Thank you for the video. I'm glad you like it but I really need to vent my opinion here. I love a Series One... but £2k for a barely revoiced amp with virtually no new features? That emulated output has always been crap anyway. Only good just good enough to get you to the PA in a pinch at a gig. Compared to what it's competing against at that price point, I would need some seriously useful new tech or features. Otherwise, I'll just buy something cheaper, something with more pedigree or just get an original again for a tenth of the price. I'm disappointed. I've been waiting years for a Series Two or a seriously updated Series One. This isn't it, and probably ensures it'll be years until Blackstar does it again.

it sounds pretty good but doesn't really have it's own voice. interesting in the marketing they mentioned the construction being traditional

@@jroobz I think it’s got a really unique voice it’s got very raw mids but maybe that doesn’t come across in the video I think this is why I used cam mics in some of the clips so everyone could get a better idea of what it’s like but maybe it didn’t work More to come in this amp

That has the weakest tone I’ve heard, or maybe the reviewer doesn’t know there is a bass knob on it. Thing is pure treble

I hear you... That's the same thing I thought until I listened through the entire video. He's got it set on the 10 watt setting and the master volume is down at 1, So the amp is not pushing the power tubes much. also, there are far too many reviewers these days that don't understand tone well enough, they push everything and scoop the mids and next thing you know they're putting boost pedals in front and dialing in the boost pedal pretty hard, etc. When you're doing an amp review you want to show the amp as close to flat as possible and then tweak the EQ to where you like the way it sounds just to show a bit more of what it can do. I think this amp deserves a reviewer like Kyle Bull or Pete Thorn, as well. This guy does a pretty good job but it would be great to hear the amp mic'd up with a stage volume so we can get a better impression of it.
@gkswift1999Ай бұрын
@@Matthew_ScanYes, true, but they can be tamed pretty easily. I used a DSL 100, a 2010 model, for about 10 years, and it's a typical Marshall. You have to turn the trouble down to two or three, use the presence for your high end, And because they don't have enough low-end, bring the mids up to about 8, and run it at 16 ohm. Even then, it was enough to push me back to using 5150s all the time. that circuit just does it right, all day long. Thank God for Eddie Van Halen and James Brown
