Your hair turned out great. I LOVE the culture on youtube of teaching people how to do their hair. I went to a salon and got quoted $400 to get my dark roots done.......400 DOLLARS .....seriously. Its highway robbery
@spoons2505 жыл бұрын
I have a local to me hair stylist on facebook who works in a very small town and posts memes daily that literally say "You want blonde hair and you have $200, its a no from me". Dont get me wrong, I definitely think stylists should be paid their fair wage but if if a simple small town stylists thinks $200 is /super/ lowball for a bleach, I think happy continuing doing it at home. $200 would be like my maximum budget and Ied expect a wash a blow.

Im sure someone else mentioned this, but to help minimize breakage there’s a few things we use in the salon to help! Bleach touch-ups are easier if done within 4 to 6 weeks of growth (about 1/4 to 1/2 in) it’ll basically eliminate a second bleach to achieve such a high lift. (The heat from your scalp dissipates considerably after so much regrowth) Another thing is applying your conditioner to previously lightened ends (before) you apply your bleach it helps minimize overlapping and breakage :) You honestly did a super job on this! Other hairstylists might disagree on doing your own hair, but if you’re gonna do it you might as well do it safely with proper education and tools!

Really love when pros are positive with some helpful tips vs snippy comments. My thought has always been, support, and then if anything goes “wrong” YOU are there for them.♥️ People will hopefully remember that you were supportive not negative. We all know people are going to try stuff at home, it’s a fact. Can’t stop it so just support and you’re there if they need you and your chair is warm and ready should it go bad. Positive thoughts go a long way than negative! Nice to see that♥️

I went to a salon to get my roots done... they were about an inch. I had the platinum silvery hair. She bleached my roots, then toned my entire head DARK grey. My roots were green. So she bleached them again and retoned everything dark again. I was like... what are you doing?!?! So she did a Malibu treatment to pull all the unwanted color she put in my hair twice, then a bleach wash and toned again! This was all within 2 days. I lost the silvery hair that took so long to get and left looking like a banana. My wedding is 4 months away and my hair is fried 😭😭😭. All that over an inch of roots😩
@odd.fingers4 жыл бұрын
Ashley Oh no! Sounds more like she was panicking rather than taking the proper precautions, it sounds like she used a suuuper ashy color which contains heavy blue pigment (and blue + yellow makes GREEN) What she could have done is anticipated that and added in more pigment to make the color more well rounded and not so muddy. But it’s a pretty easy fix! Toners sit on the top of the hair strand rather than a permanent color that sits underneath the cuticle of the hair. Which makes them fade easy! Don’t panic girl, it’ll fade! You can also speed up the process by using a cheap shampoo! I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your engagement!! Another thing: anything ashy, grey, or otherwise in that family will always appear darker since those pigments retract light rather than reflect it! It’s very easy to overcompensate in one way and end up darker, over processed etc..
@mouhitorinoboku96554 жыл бұрын
@@Koralene get a deep conditioner/hair mask for dry damaged hair and do it for several days, then go to sally beauty and ask for a toner that will remove the yellow color, i fried my own hair back in high school and i saved it with loads of garnier hair masks over the course of a couple weeks (go as long without shampoo as possible, for me 3 days of hair masks to 1 wash worked best) and then toner, i keep my hair bleached even now, and my mom and sis help me do it at home, my hair is blue which requires perfectly white hair.

Just wanted to let you know you're my hero. I used your formula on my hair to do my initial overall lightening, and it is sooooo much better than any bleaching I've ever done before. I have pretty dark hair naturally, level 4-5 ish, and now it's pale enough for pastels with minimal damage. I break the base with the same formula except for a 20 developer and dilute with shampoo for like 15 min every 3 weeks or so for a shadow at the root. I really gotta thank you, so thank you!!

hey girl i’m so glad you’re putting this out there so that ppl who want to do it at home do it as healthily as possible!! pretty sure almost everyone has been traumatized at the salon once and it’s definitely not cheap to achieve or maintain fun hair. i’m also totally using that circumference tip bc despite how many bleach outs i’ve done on clients, i would always do those areas last but somehow never thought to section those parts out completely during touch ups 🤣 and since you’re doing this bleach out in two sessions (which makes me so happy), for anyone who’s watching and also dealing with more than an inch of hair to lighten, it would be less damaging to avoid or do your roots last on just that second session since they’ll already be lighter and process faster than the rest of the hair. over-processing is a common reason for breakage, and even if it doesn’t break, your roots will be very fragile and may break when you touch it up :(

Again I can not praise this stuff enough, years and years of abusing my hair. I use to dye my roots and did it every two weeks as my hair grows fast. I had an ombre brown to blonde look and was tired of dying it every two weeks, I have white roots. SO I figured just dye it blonde. I had to use a color remover twice, bleached it twice, toned it 3 times and did 3 lemon plus dandruff shampoo washes to remove the green tone the toner left. I was recommended this ION Moisture conditioner and an ION moisture leave in conditioner, this shit is the bomb, not only did it take care of the damage it left my hair shiny, soft and the ends dont look dry or damaged, this stuff really works, I didnt have to cut off any of it. IT WORKS!!! CANT PRAISE IT ENOUGH!

Toners don't just provide color, they help balance out the hair's porosity, seal the cuticle, and add depth and shine. Also, being a semi-permanent color, they don't use as intense of ingredients as higher developers do so they won't affect the health of your hair in a negative way.

Lol but in all seriousness, that’s a good point. I wear a scarf or beanie or something if i have to go somewhere or worst case do the bleach 2 days in a row with a bonding agent and you’ll finish in time. It’s not completely necessary to wait extra days, i just prefer it

Alright I'm going to buy these products today and give it a shot over the next week, I've bleached my hair alot too with other brands and developers and I was able to get my hair super blonde but I started failing at a certain point so I just let my hair grow out. I have dark hair also so I'm super excited and hope this helps me become half as blonde/white as your hair was able to get ! Thanks girl!!(:

Her hair used to be down her back. So dont feel bad. It may have affected her hair too. I think bleach is just hard to work with overall.

maybe this is a dumb question but if u dont have already bleached ends do u put on bleach to the ends in the first step
@CarameI_queen5 жыл бұрын
eden_buks yeah, you start always start at the ends if they haven’t been bleached/ coloured/ chemically processed before and do the roots last because they process the fastest

This is so HELPFUL but i want to use wella blondor bleach and it says I can’t use more than 20 vol, should i just use 30 vol but ONLY if i add the ion olaplex dupe? Plz help :(

This looks soooo good! And very very helpful. Thank you! Do you remember how many days you've waited between days 2 and 3? If I wait too long, my roots will grow (My hair grows really fast). I see that before day 3 your roots are lighter closer to the scalp but yet you bleached it all together. Didn't it damage the already very light roots? How do you avoid overlapping and breakage of already bleached hair from before? The last time I went to a professional salon - they overlapped and a lot of hair fell off... Thanks!!! you're amazing!

As a hairstylist I just wanna add that spanning it out a couple days does nothing. You have to span it out between haircuts. Meaning once a month or so. A day doesn’t make a difference on your hair.
@monique70195 жыл бұрын
Excentric_Elizabeth legit? I just bleached my hair on Friday night ( it’s currently Sunday night) I’m hoping to dye it during the day on Tuesday. Do you think my hair will be fine to bleach/tone again? My hair is pretty short and took well to the bleach and came out the colour of the inside of a banana. Sorry for information overload. I just really wanna get it more platinum blonde and have been searching the internet far and wide

I'm definitely gonna try bleaching my roots myself now.
