Why is the Martin D-28 so expensive? Martin guitars are expensive because of several reasons. 1) Quality materials 2) Quality workmanship, every Martin sold is a very well built instrument. 3) Martin has never sold 'seconds' so all guitars they sell under the Martin name meet their rigorous requirements, and yep... 4) It is a Martin guitar.
