I’d love to hear what your favorite books were, in 2024! Not necessarily “new”, but new to you! ❤

Thank you Celeste for sharing your best books for 2024. A great list. I’m going to purchase, The Homemaker, based on your review. Thank you : ) Throughout the year I’ve bought online a few books you’ve recommended (specifically, The Morning Gift, Thomasina, The Memory Police and a few others that you didn’t list, though I can’t remember them at the top of my head). Unfortunately, I’ve not yet got around to reading them because of all the other books I’m reading, but I will get there. My goal in 2025 is to put a stop to buying books for 12 months, so I can read some of the amazing books I already have on my shelf. In 2024, I read, to date, a total of 51 books. Based on your question, my favourite book (series) was an equal first, Little on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder and the Emily trilogy by L M Montgomery. Excellent! Though hard to pick one favourite (stand alone) book, I have chosen, The Blue Castle, by L M Montgomery. It was funny and heart warming. L M Montgomery was an amazing writer. Celeste, I just want to take this opportunity to wish you (and your son) a very happy Christmas 🎄and a wonderful 2025 ✨I don’t comment on each video, but I do watch them, so thank you for all you do: it’s an inspiring channel 📚

Oh...and Thomasina!!! One of my best friends has been telling me to read "Jennie" by Paul Gallico for some time now. I need to read that one too. I am EXTREMELY jealous of your copy of Thomasina! 😻

Hey Celeste, I watched this video in the wee hours of the morning and loved it! Then I watched it again after breakfast. So many wonderful books. You did have a great reading year! Of your list I most wish to read Penelope Farmer, it sounds amazing! Edith Wharton and H.G. Wells are two authors I want to read in 2025. Actually, there are so many! I also LOVE how you divided them up into months! Stand by for my favorite reads...although it may not be my very next video, but the one after (so many videos, so little time! ha ha). I love that color of your ring...stunning! Have a lovely Sunday!💗

I really enjoyed The Fox Wife, too. My favorite book of the year was The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff, which managed to provide social commentary on the lives of women in contemporary India while still being laugh-out-loud funny. I also enjoyed Lolly Willows, Olive Kitteridge, and Thornyhold, my first Mary Stewart book. I've added The Home Maker to the top of my tbr. I'm looking forward to seeing all your book reviews and recommendations in 2025! 💜

The Chinese Shawl was a favorite for me too. The other Miss Silver that I thought would make a good movie would be Lonesome Road. I loved Disney’s Thomasina as a child. Didn’t realize that those old ones were still streaming somewhere.

I've just read 'The Great Ghost Rescue' by Eva Ibbotson, which is a children's book, if I had children young enough, I'd have kept it. My favourite for the year would be Ferdia Lennon's 'Glorious Exploits' a couple of potters feed Athenian prisoners in exchange for putting on plays, written in an Irish dialect. It's a bit like being sat in an Irish bar and told a story. I like the way the story just is, the lack of a didactic author telling you to think a certain way about the situation, and there's a touch of the Hans Solo about it: stepping up to heroics, not necessarily being the best intentioned person to start with.
