Recommendations: Drinkthrough on Plantation rum(can be their signature blends or limited releases), compare rums from different regions but most of all mezcal. There are brands like 5 Sentidos, Nuestra Soledad, Real Minero, Vago and Rey Campero that have ensembles from different plants and mezcals from individual mezcaleros every year. Also you guys would love Raicilla and Sotol. Completely different than mezcal but complex flavor profiles.

Fun recap guys. If you are taking suggestions, I'd love to see more Irish Whiskey, Rums, and Scotch Blends. Some Mescals would be fun too! I also think a live stream or long format episode with you guys trying some liquors outside your normal (KZbin) comfort zones would be fun (maybe just impressions, not actual scoring or blinds). Categories like Soju, Gins (lots of craft products out there in this category), Grappa, etc. Cheers and Happy Holidays.

I opened the Signet for my birthday this year and enjoyed it with my friends along with a few other cracker drams like Glendronach 15, Amrut Atma peated and the Arran 18. For me Arran 18 is my whisky of the year ... such a delicious dram.

The Signet is great! Even better after it's had time to develop post-neck-pour. Been enjoying the channel a lot! My favorite bourbon right now is the Still Austin cask strength. Would love to know how it rates for you guys.

I can't agree more with the Calumet. I'm not saying it's phenomenal I'm not saying it's the best thing I've ever had, but there is nothing else like it and mature only market it's pretty great for what it is, and currently not replicated from the other 15-year brands that are mostly totes

I could agree more with the finished bourbon crap that's being pushed. It'll never be better than a properly aged bourbon and it's almost the same cost.

Fortaleza is already like Buffalo Trace in the NYC area. The guy at my spot said that it's almost impossible to get any allocated. The most they were able to get were 2 bottles of reposado.

Completely agree about finished bourbons. I think it could potentially work, but I with they would limit the influence by fully drying the barrels and reducing the time that they are finished. Its a total turn off when it gets so sweet and overpowering.

I'm with Dutch. Finished bourbons meh. And I'm also with Dutch- I steer away from craft. Big boys got it going on at the right price point. Craft is a crap shoot and my money is limited.

Love your reviews guys. If you’re looking to review more rums, I’d love to see you review Appleton 15 or 21, anything from Rhum JM, El Dorado, Chairman’s Reserve, or Plantation. All making killer runs that seem to be flying under the radar relative to whisky or tequila.

Great episode! I'm seeing the tequila shortage in Florida myself. More and more bourbon drinkers frustrated with the allocations and secondary prices are gravitating toward tequila, I ordered a Fortaleza Still Strength and G4 Madera today just to have on backup. Regarding celebrity tequila, I'm all for it! Let them sell the crap and leave the good stuff to people who appreciate it. I'm curious! For 2023, have you considered reviewing any gins? Maybe it's too much of a niche category. You could probably do an entire episode comparing all the Fever-Tree tonics. No matter what, Happy Holidays to you and your families.

I look forward to the glorious return of Mr. Dillion and Sir Dillion, while also watching delightful Dillion eat things with chopsticks that shouldn’t normally be eaten with chopsticks! I’d like to see some more reviews of things that are just not the norm; Indian single malts, Japanese Rum, Armagnac, etc. Cheers to 2023
