Barrier Ice shard sorc is insanely fun. There are 2 uniques that are a lot of fun, one that gives lucky hits a chance to freeze, and one that gives frozen enemies a chance to explode into a frost nova on death. Lucky hit builds on Sorc are crazy.

Got the frost nova unique myself, absolutely crazy lol. I actually reccomend using frost bolt as an enchantment to raise the possibility of freezing enemies and have them possibly exploding into several frost novas. Raising the DPS with Rapid aspects also help to make frost bolts and ice shards trigger frost novas more often.

For rogues theirs a little build diversity but very little basic skill - puncture 100%. the others don't generate much energy, require you to be at melee, and can't apply vulnerable. So much of a rogues build/resource generation wants that vulnerable applied, so it's an extra source for that. None of the others come close as they don't actually offer anything rogues need. core - really all of the core skills are great on rogue. Every single one can be used, However twisting blades has good sustain and clear. If flurry had a slightly larger Aoe, it might end up better for speed runs, and but it's not great vs single targets. Penetrating shot/barrage/rapid fire are all very solid, but take specific aspects to really make them work, and can be lower on the sustain tree at times. Agility - you can't go without shadow step, it's not an option. Death by stunlock is only escapable with Unstoppable, and this is our only unstoppable skill. making dash your positioning tool, either to get penetrating shot through multiple targets, let barrage split better, get twisting blades pulls etc. So it's not a shock they're taken. Which limits any extra skills, making caltrops not an option by default. Even if it was a good skill Subterfuge - Poison trap all the way. that knockdown with passives in the tree, and daze skills etc. is way too good for survival. Borderline required in some cases. And in builds with imbuements it can reset imbuements. Additionally aspects make targets influenced by traps vulnerable, and poison trap being a DoT almost keeps vulnerable up permanently on any target you can consistently trap. Vulnerable is a required part of rogues kit for it to even work. While smoke grenade i think would be a great option, it's held back by needing basic + core + trap + 2 agility skills 90% of the time. Which makes it compete against ultimate's, Dark shroud, and imbuements. Dark shroud as well is great for harder hitting content, especially for marksman builds that can constantly apply it, or if you are going into an area where theirs not a lot of chip damage eating the charges, and it's singluar big hits that are a threat ultimates - Most of the suffer from the cooldown, and needing to compete against the consistency of imbuements. Death trap + Exposure is a very strong combination, and momentum gives survival, speed, and energy sustain. Precision is really for the ranged build's that can't make use of those 2. close quarter takes to much to get online, and when you're talking marksman + cutthroat skills (twisting blades/flurry + puncture, it simply can't outdo momentum in value. damage reduction alone is important). victimize is just far too rng, with no consistency. Looks like it's main use would be speed clearing content, where you hit 10-15 mobs and some would explode to clear faster. But that isn't needed with shadow imbuement, and the mobility offered through Momentum. . . of the barely used ones, i can possibly see some close quarters combat builds, but only with penitent greaves. Since you'd puncture > twisting blades > dash through. and the greaves apply slow which is considered cc for 20% damage. . However, giving up momentum is a hard ask.

this game is damn good, at first i didnt understand the nodes part and found it boring until i realized that you connect tiles and can chose between different nodes set to really customize your build, the replayability will be INSANE once they balance the game a bit

ill be the first to say that i really wish they some how were able to add in more classes in the base game. i wish that there was enough diversity to make it feel like a fleshed out and living world... instead of always seeing the same 5 classes everywhere you go. it is immersion breaking. like 10 different classes would have made this game a different beast.

Maybe do a similar analysis but with a more casual or a lower porcentile of the population... where most of us are.. because many make the mistake to mimic a top player without the gear, abilities or practice ... or simply it doesn't work or requires too much time. So going to a bracket between 40 to 60 percentile would be more in the media?

i'm still slowly crawling through the game. Now lvl 49 and the difference in damage between skills is so huge that anyone comes to same conclusions while playing and trying new abilities. For my sorc, ice shards is just way too powerful that when i switch to blizz or orb it's just sad.. And for me these two are more fun than shards, but playing with them means just more struggle, longer, boring fights, which makes the overall experiance worse :/ Sad, but balance is bad.

Blizzard sorc build is one of the best, with the unique aspect that appears ice spikes on blizzards you can focus on critical damage and other perks to delete Group of enemies and Bosses on level 70-100

I think it's very early on to draw any conclusions about build diversity. We're only 9 (13 for EA) days since release so most people that play a lot are going with the most powerful builds and are not investing much time in exploring other build while they get their inital goals (all classes to 100 for example).

Yeah pretty much everybody is guilty of just looking up "Best Builds" and then just play them, rarely people actually try completly different builds themselfs. People wanna be effective so its kinda weird to say, its blizzards fault... sure there are obviosly bad and useless skills/traits but even if everything would be about the same... people will go with the "meta"-build even if its just 1% better. Diablo isnt even the worst in this reagard, so many mmos have this problem... people wil go with the most effective even if it only does 5% more dps but is complicated and unfun to play.

This is a real issue with the game. The point of this game is to create really cool builds with EVERY spell/ability. Obviously the game just came out and they need time to balance and make changes, Im just hoping they do it sooner than later, because it's kind of lame that half the skills aren't even being used because how terrible they are. I'm the kind of person that likes to create my own build and have fun with it. There's literally no diversity. Im hoping they create more spells for each class, and also reworking everything, AND Bring that New class to D4 that's in Immortal! Because it's sick!

When you go into Grizzly rage you get another hot bar. In reg form I use Hurricane then when I hit Grizzly rage if you have other abilities through your gear you can put them on that new bar for Dire to use. Your Welcome..

Judging from the druid who actually has a fair few viable builds. Even builds that are better than Pulv. I think most comes down to sheep / lazy mentality. The other druid builds does take a loooong time and a fair bit of luck to get online. But everyone just follows top build videos on KZbin. That and maybe the making a build is too complex for the avg. Player

Making a build is absolutely too complex for the average player. Some of this is their fault, some is the games design. Without videos explaining what damage is additive, and what damage is multiplicative, I would have made some mistakes myself.

Well, the top 1000 people rn is the guy who's minmaxing every little things in their builds, so it's not a surprise that almost half of them got the same type of build. i am surprised at the use rate on dark shroud for rogue considering you can get free dark shrouds on crit with a legendary. I dropped dark shroud and swapped to concealment for the CC cleanse

same. My rogue is unique compared to what this vid says is the most popular. I centred around penetrating shot and caltrops. Shadow Step, Shadow Imbuement, and Concealment provide me with explosive high damage attacks. Then I can duck out with caltrops and concealment, plus concealment increases my energy so I can attack with penetrating shot again pretty quickly. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

How do rogue talents add up? lol... Dark Shroud at 46%, Poison Trap at 72%, Concealment and Smoke at 1&4%. That's 123% there.

What are you talking about. This is so obvious. I've never checked any guides for builds or anything. If you're someone who understands your skills and test them you'll reach the same conclusion as everyone else who does the same. It's that simple. Test a build combo, see that it sucks, skip it. Test another, does more damage, works more reliably, use it. Some variations here and there but the core foundation stays the same. There's no diversity when a game only requires DAMAGE, it doesn't have niche classes or roles. Only performance matters. Only numbers matter. It's easy to understand that people gravitate towards faster = better.

I haven't played my barb yet.. but I always was gonna go with lung+whirls ... there's simply nothing close to how fun that combo is... even when it wasn't the strangest. As for sorc... the problem with hydra and friends, same for blizzard and friends is that they have no CDs and most sorc builds go with using CDs to get mana... so it really doesn't matter what you use.. you just want it to have a CD... I am not using a basic skill nor and ultimate... just short CDs and shards

@@vewyscawymonsta I'm not missing out anything. I've tried every single spell... I'm broke just out of respecc... and most of my play style have been based on the items that dropped for me. I've used ice blades, hydra, frozen orb, chain lighting, inferno, blizzard and frozen orb with fire bolt and fire wall Enchanted... wich is fun to play but slow and unpredictable to kill... so people goes to the most efficient. I am the odd case outside the norm... I don't follow guides as I like to live and explore the game... eventually I can read reviews to confirm my thoughts but never follow a guide.. that's later when I'm bored of the game or simply want to try something
