This camera backpack is absolutely amazing! I love using it so much and it's easily the best bag I've ever owned. The ThinkTank Backstory 15 is the perfect everyday camera bag. The padding is super high quality and the sternum and waist straps are just amazing! I can wear this thing for hours and still be completely fine. The build quality is stupendous and it doesn't really have many downsides.
Inside the bag you're able to fit a decent amount of camera gear. I normally can get away with packing one or two camera bodies, two or three lenses, and a few other pieces of photo and video gear. No, you're not going to be able to pack your entire kit, but this bag is more made for an everyday, walking around bag.
This bag is also great for a variety of creators. Photographers looking for a lot of space, videographers with a light load, or just anyone looking to get their first professional camera bag are going to love using the Backstory 15.

Thanks. Got one other small ThinkTank bag and was v.impressed with the quality so looking to replace a bulky lowpro bag that's falling to bits. Do like lots about this design. Like that you lay the outside of the bag on the floor to excess the main compartment. It's the opposite on the LowPro and means you then have to put the dirty side back against your back, which always bugged me. The quick access looks v.handy as well.

Oh yeah the quick access pocket and having to access the main compartment from the back were the two main selling points for me other than the size.

Nice review. I've had this bag for almost a year and I like it a lot. Regarding Con #3, I haven't had any issues standing it up, in fact that's how I have it 99% of the time when it's not on my back. Strange that yours doesn't stand. Regarding the stitching, have you contacted Think Tank support? They were very helpful when I needed them.

Or really? I can never get mine to stand on it's own. Maybe I just have too much gear inside. Idk. As far as the stitching, I said it was a con but tried to make sure everyone knew it wasn't a huge issue. It's really not a huge concern to me. Thanks for letting me know though!

You don't feel that the back of this bag is so hard and lumpy? I just got the Backstory 13 bag. Coming from an old LowePro Mini Trekker AW bag which has a soft, flexible, and comfortable backside, I immediately feel my back is hurting wearing this Think Tank backpack. And there is nothing in the bag either.

I think it's all preference because I honestly love the comfortability of it. I've never had an issue with the padding or anything also the Backstory 13 might be a little different than the Backstory 15. The 15 comes with waist and chest straps to take a lot of the weight off your back which is nice. With your situation too it could be that your bag just hasn't been broken in yet. I've had mine for about 2 years now so the padding isn't as stiff. Hope this helps!
