I think in terms of gasoline powered aircraft, the ALL METAL C-182 is simply the best all around aircraft out there. Electric flight is coming, but electric is not quite ready for long flights. I'd much rather have a 182 over a SR20/22 any day because I just love the concept of all metal, high wing with struts. I became a big believer in the 182 when I knew someone who did something really really dumb {and don't ever do what this guy did!!} He was piloting a 182 as a low time pilot, and flew smack dab in a thunderstorm and the airplane was tossed like "THE MINNOW" on Gilligan's Island. Happy to report the friend made it back ALIVE. The aircraft had some popped rivets but thanks to the strutted wings and somewhat higher than a Cirrus drag factor {which CAN be a GOOD thing} the aircraft stayed together. The aircraft was inspected and repaired. So God bless those engineers who designed the 182 - they did a fantastic job !! And getting back to the video, I think what you did with the interior is a really good thing, because it keeps some light focused on the greatness of the 182 in an era of "sexy and clean" composite designs and decades out arrival of large scale electrification of aircraft.

Cessnas are the best because they have so much great visibility and rear windshield! hopefully some new aircraft designers will focus more on combining great window visibility and Performance instead of just focusing on the absolute aerodynamics of an aircraft.

Seats look great, but why not really improve the avionics with the latest tech as well? I hope Cessna sees this and steps it up. Cirrus has the “cool factor” figured out but I like Cessnas.

The avionics are a combination of old school and new technology. This airplane can fly any instrument approach, she has an auto-pilot, blue tooth connections, and can transmit from the GTN 750 to my ipad, and iphone and vice versa, makes telephone calls, has built in oxygen and with her turbocharger, regularly flies above 16k feet. I lost an alternator once and the old instruments got me on the ground safely. Big TV screens look nice but if they lose power, what do you do?

Whatever the price it made this guy very happy and also gave the upholstery shop a cool project and a great deal of business to help them continue to do great work. I bet these guys loved the challenge and we’re excited to get to show off what they could do instead of the same old bland interior on every Cessna that just wants a ripped seat repair.

at what point do you just have too much money into a 182 to those that dont understand he spent enough money to build a house after the fact of buying the plane , I would like to see a normal airplane like a 182 to be affoirable like it was when they came out .. normal dudes with normal jobs could buy one .. not like this dude with deep pockets and just money to spend it's a real problem in GA its soo inflated and pepole are soo proud to pay the inflation i don't see the y ounger pepole even remotely trying to get into it becouse its cheaper to do hookers and blow then it is to upgrade that 182 ...
