@user-dx5mg9by9y over 20 million white people moved out of the US. Over 6 million white people in Africa, 1.1 million Chinese, 2.5 million Indians ,250 thousand Lebanese living in our ancestors' land. And you are talking about staying in the west. Only about 20 thousand people from the diaspora living in Africa. I did not say move from the Caribbean unless someone wanted to. Numbers of people from Jamaica moved to Africa because they wanted to.

I am presently in Nairobi and in my opinion after visiting three other African countries, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, I think Nairobi is an easy city for African American to transition. This place is almost like New York. What I like the most is transportation. I can call a uber and get one within two minutes just like the U.S. and you can pay cash or use our credit card to pay uber. I am extremely impressed the place is highly developed.❤

Accra. I was there last year my 3rd time. Constructions all over the place with modern buildings. And recently found out Ghana is the Second Most Peaceful Country in Africa After Mauritius. And very Safe. And the people is Second to Non. The food..December in Accra is like Atlanta. You party til sunrise. Then Afro Future Music festival, Afro Nation, Panafest and so many activities. This was the best holidays of my life. I am planning to move there. What I also like is the number of African Americans in Ghana. They have the AFRICAN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF GHANA (AAAG) Almost 40 years old. Even though Ghana is NOT as developed as other countries like Kenya, South Africa and others. The Peace, Sense of Belonging, freedom is something money can NOT buy.A lots of retirees living in their big houses by the beach front facing the Atlantic Ocean. Some said their tress is gone away, and some said they stop using their medications from America. And most of them said they lost some weight. Ashley I love your channel. Great job. Ghana was actually the fastest growing economy in the world, until Covid and Ukraine came and messed everything up.

Our African American Brothers and sisters are most welcome to SA, even in our smaller cities and towns. However, like my Kenyan brother, I would like to caution you about our rural areas, even for me as a South African I can't land in any rural area to settle, unless I was born there or my father was etc. It's just too complicated, my honest advise, stay in the cities and towns.

Welcome to Africa. Welcome to Kenya. Welcome to Nairobi. I'm glad that the AA family has points of contact from people like you who will understand them much better. We have challenges in Africa, but you can create and experience perfect happiness here too. With some dollars, you can create your heaven here. Just that you need to know that you cannot trust everyone for looking like you. As highlighted, rural Africa is a challenge in itself. Even those of us living in cities like Nairobi have reservations on how we handle the rural areas that we come from. All the best in your return journey.

Blessings sis! Trust that you are continuing to thrive!! Agree 100% with your analysis. My top 4 would definitely be Johannesburg, Nairobi, Accra and Kigali in that order. In my terms of ease of entry and repatriation. All cities have a large, functional and networked Diaspora community that is plugged in to many elements of the local economy. Also you must be prepared to function in community and with community. Transactional relationships and self reliance will not cut it because you are moving to societies where relationships and networks carry more currency than money. Period. Many African Americans fail because they don’t understand this dynamic or can hack it.

The biggest misconception I tend to see about South Africans and Kenyans is their notion that because they’ve relatively better infrastructure in their cities in Africa, African Americans should go there. First of all East and South Africa are not their home, home. African Americans are West Africans. Secondly, if African Americans thought infrastructure was central to their lifestyles, they wouldn’t leave first class US infrastructure to come to second class infrastructure in Africa. African Americans are going to even small countries in West Africa with third or fourth class infrastructure. African Americans leave the US for Africa for something more powerful, tangible and spiritual than mere infrastructure.

I am currently in Cape Town, South Africa - I arrived on Wednesday, February 21st and I'm leaving on tomorrow evening (2/25). I absolutely enjoy Cape Town! I had a chance to tour on the Red Bus and really enjoyed the scenery including the Table Top Mountain view of the city. The food here is so fresh, the air is fresh, friendly people, the beaches are beautiful and I can just go on and on. There is no place in the USA nor many international places for which I have visited that can touch Cape Town as Cape Town is the best! This was a fantastic overview that was well presented. I have a few comments that may seem contradictory, but I really in agreement with you. There is an alternate way to enter the continent through an NGO. I came as a volunteer farmer with the World Wide Organization of Organic Farmers Independents [WEOOF]. I came to Dodoma, Tanzania 3 years ago from Florida. WWOOF provided a secure contact and support system of native Tanzanians who spoke English and helped me get residency and a work permit which is really for business development. I was raised in North Jersey, close enough to visit NY and return to the peace and quiet of NJ. That is how I find Nairobi. I go there often and have made a few acquaintances there, but I enjoy the peace and communities of Dodoma. I know this is becoming long, but I also want to mention Lusaka, ZAMBIA. It is similar to Nairobi. Unlike Nairobi, it is TRULY VISA-FREE. ZAMBIA, KENYA and Ghana [have not been] have serious debt and Western Influences. They may be okay for a while, but I believe they will suffer the same fate as the u-S.

I'm sure that you'll find some people who speak English in Abidjan .Don't forget, learning another languages is a great added values ...It's such shame that AA only focus on English speaking countries when they come to Africa...As Afro European I can tell you that Abidjan is really great, well organize, with electricity, water, good transportation etc. and safe too

I guess my view is what’s the point of leaving if all we’re doing is brining American capitalistic mentalities? Which is the foundation of our oppression in America. I guess my view would if we need to start fresh we need to drop the ideals and views of America completely and start fresh in Africa as a true decedent and work and live in the country. Allowing African children to travel freely across the continent would be a powerful catalyst for growth and unity, not just for the future generation, but also for the heart of Africa's economy-its small and medium businesses. As these young minds journey across borders, they bring with them curiosity, creativity, and a deep sense of cultural pride. This movement would ignite new opportunities for businesses to thrive, as they become the backbone of a continent united by shared experiences and dreams. Imagine a future where children, inspired by the diverse landscapes and vibrant cultures of Africa, grow up to become entrepreneurs who weave their knowledge and connections into a tapestry of prosperity. This freedom to explore and connect would not only enrich the lives of the children but also empower the businesses that support their communities, creating a ripple effect of growth, innovation, and hope across the entire continent.🇿🇦🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

@@luthovellem865 have you been there? Have you done a good research. Name one infrastructure it doesn't have. Do you not know lagos has many international companies doing business including some from South africa. Do you think the other cities on the list can sustain 22 million people like lagos. Yes it does need more infrastructure, but did you research the ones that is being built as we speak and the ones that are about to start like the new international airport. What about the new metro line and the second one that is about to put in service, with 3 more in the near future. Do you know about the new oil refinerie that went on stream this year. What about the new shipping port adding to the 2 others that is already there and a third about to get started this year. Do know about eco Atlantic, the new city that is currently building. Lagos has many bridges because it's surrounded by water. Do you know about the new bridge they are about to start building in March? When complete it will be the second longest bridge in Africa behind the one in Egypt. There is more, but let me stop here. Go online and research it for yourself. Better yet visit. And please don't talk before researching. I an from America I know what good infrastructure looks like.

As an African living in Africa and aware that Africa is developing and not developed, I wish to take a view contrary to Ashley's by asking her a few questions. One, Why encourage African Americans to come only to "developed" or well to do cities? If they really care about Africa as opposed to having self interest, they should also settle in comparatively less developed cities like Kampala and Kinshasa. Why? Because then the benefit is mutual. Africans gain by having African Americans playing an active role in uplifting the economic standards of all of Africa through investing in such cities. Then, AA will be contributing something substantial to the continent, that is, helping in making all of Africa great. This is unlike what Ashley is proposing which means African Americans taking their dollars to cities already on a good economic footing. Two, are African Americans coming to Africa as free riders, settling in black African cities that are already fairly well endowed? That is, is fun what should bring AAs to Africa and not business? Contrast this with other races trooping to all parts of Africa without exception. Chinese are selling their industrial output in Ouagadougou, white Americans and Europeans are in Africa exploring and extracting minerals from South Sudan to Tanzania, even in Ghana and South Africa to mention only a few places. In a nutshell, for Africa and African Americans to grow economically, African Americans should not come to Africa to be wowed by African cities that are "developed." They should come to Africa with open minds and with entrepreneurial intentions. They they can go to any part of Africa to make money. Remember that Africa, through colonialism and post colonialism by exploitation is responsible for much of American, European and now Chinese wealth. Come to Africa to invest and make money, not just to spend in western style cities.

African Americans are investing in Africa... you just don't know nothing about that.. They are building real estate properties in Ghana.. gambia.. Liberia and even south Africa.. Also remember.. I think what your talking about is what Ashley says it's phase 2, meaning first phase is get to well developed city on her list get acclimated know what's what build community then from there you can branch out to lesser developed cities/areas. It's easier for AA to start off in well developed cities.

Some of my extended family stays there and I was there this past Dec and millions of South African holiday-makers still descended to the city in droves to enjoy the city’s natural beauty and affordable vacation spots, since it gives you a way more relaxed coastal vibe than what you get in Jhb and has loads more defined culture through the Zulu and Indian ppl there. Don't mention cities like Kigali and Windhoek where Nairobi is mentioned. Those are like business districts found in Nairobi suburbs. Also Durban has no major importance over Nairobi, not strategically, diplomatically, as a hub, geopolitically and as a financial centre. You need to get out of your bubbles down there in Mzansi. In case you didn't know, the city in the backdrop in her thumbnail is Nairobi!

@@alexchui3511 you must be deluded, one of the largest and busiest ports in the Southern Hemisphere is in Durban and it is the busiest on the continent . Durban’s economy alone (GDP) pretty much matches that of whole of Kenya..:lol you must not know, Durban is the third richest city in South Africa and 5th richest after those 2 along with Lagos, Cairo. Nairobi is something closer to Port Elizabeth here in South Africa in terms of development, infrastructure and economic influence. So maybe to you, it’s not important but without that pier a lot of Africa, not just South Africa doesn’t function. And as much as small as Kigali and Windhoek are, they aren’t to be scoffed at.::they are clean and safe functional cities and have better amenities than many cities on this continent. Nairobi is definitely big and notable in East Africa but still has a way to go to even match up to where some of the bigger cities are at on continent.

Not mentioned in your video is a topic you may want to consider in the future, and that is which country/city in Africa offers the biggest bang-for-the-American-dollar. Also, I wish there was a forum by which black American professionals working in finance, business intelligence or consulting could talk...especially in terms of tech/AI. Still, I like your video (probably could use some editing to tighten things up). I can't wait to plan my first trip to "The MotherLand". I'm a HBCU grad of Tuskegee University.

Providing global world class goods and services in Africa is also another important opportunity for the AA to look for in Africa if they have money. If you are a digital nomad rather than a retiree or business owner, the main things that you want to know about are the reliability of electricity and strength of internet. Don't stay too far from the airport (unless you buy a car) or too far from the best shopping mall. I know. I know. You are NOT a spoiled American.
