Did you know the World's Best Coffee Shop is in South Africa? Yep, it's called Truth Coffee, a quirky cafe that's a steampunk world of pipes and old metal, with gourmet, home-roasted coffee. And afterwards, we took a colorful stroll through Bo-Kaap!

AHH I love coffee.. in high school literally hated it... then college came around and it went from a mostly sugar frappuchino with a hint of coffee to now getting iced coffee with coconut milk

So weird - I never seemed to have come around to liking coffee. Maybe one day I'll convert like you did lol! The museum was really sad. Learning about apartheid and everything South Africa's been through...it's pretty crazy! Thanks for watching :)

That is a LOT of connecting flights to get to Cape Town - so glad you made it :D I love that you are looking at the histories first - I remember feeling very emotional at the Murdered Jews Museum in Berlin. I HATE coffee too! High five - my friends don't understand. I can do the really watered down ones, like caramel frapp (which basically isn't coffee). Bo-Kaap is so pretty

It looks really nice there in Cape Town. The district 6 museum looks interesting. The coffee place looks amazing and I can't believe you don't like coffee. You probably are better off as I think I'm addicted to coffee.

We really appreciate how you go into a museum first to learn about the history... interesting how it never said "no BLACKS" or "black people" it was always "Whites only" or "Non-Whites..." You actually hate coffee??? I LOVE coffee (maya talking) but I don't really drink it, I am more a tea drinker, although coffee smells amazing and tastes amazing hahaha. That guy who welcomed you is so damn friendly XD Apparently South Africans are particularly warm and welcoming. LOL at "Coffee Hater Test" Seeing the architecture after 4:55 is fascinating, it seems eclectic (lots of colours, but also modern buildings, and some seem like colonial european buildings) Seriously. WOW ASHLEY! What a beautiful video I can't stop talking hahaha sorry for the long-ass comment

Wow, I (Cynthia) was working for a while as barista in Australia and I was so proud when I was able to make the pattern of a heart or leave on top of the coffee but these guys are artists!! Hahaha, they surely tried their best to convince you to become a coffee lover ;) It's been 16 years now since the last time I was in SA (I'm getting old ;) ) but this country was my first love and hey, you can't really forget your first love :). I lived there very short after the apartheid had finished so I suppose a lot has changed since then. I'm curious to see the rest of your series in South Africa :)

Oh woooowwww you were there right after apartheid?? That is nuts!! It's so crazy how it really wasn't that long ago when apartheid ended! I can't believe this was going on during our lifetime.

Amazing video about our favorite city in the world. Many years ago we were blessed with an opportunity to explore CapeTown for 8 days. After that trip we have visited many beautiful cities and countries but we have not seen anything more beautiful than Capetown and Cape of Good Hope. Well, I would say Iguazu Falls and Machu Picchu came close. I think the combination of Atlantic Ocean, the city, the Table Mountain and Cape of Good Hope makes this part of the world so unique.

Yay, Cape Town. Good thing that you catched the flight haha. Truth Coffee was sooo overrated! I was really disappointed haha. But Ashley, how can someone not like coffee ? :D Bo Kaap was really cool, I was in that small shop you recorded and had a nice chat with the owner haha. The background story for the colored houses is also interesting ;) Cant wait for the next one!

Rob's Quest they were once townships right? And then they got gentrified? Omg and I hate coffee haha, I have hated coffee my entire life. But hey apparently I can drink mocha! Who knew?! My friends loved the Truth Coffee restaurant, I'm surprised you didn't!! But then again, I think my friends just liked all the handsome men who worked there 😂

Great video! Love that you all captured the history + impacts from Apartheid as well! I may imagine the energy and feeling of love v. hate and fear / control / freedoms in that museum + impacts in the country etc.

Katrina Julia Yes, we felt a wide range of emotions being there! On one hand, Cape Town was so beautiful it took our breath away. But on the other hand, we were constantly reminded about the history of what happened there and how it was so recent (and native South Africans are still being affected to this day).

I could definitely see that - wide range of emotions - like life :) I remember studying about it + writing papers + only imaging what it felt like.
