Trunks got such a glow up this set, got first place at celebration event because of the Trunks/ Vegito combo and that’s just 1 card that boosts him

The biggest difference between vegeta and trunks access to 3 drop gotenks. 4 drop Gotenks is already used as a key engine in all blue decks. Vegeta always being able to play gotenks for one energy less, while only needing 1 3 drop gotenks in hand for the entirety game, is what allows vegeta leader to shine more imo. It being a 10k combo also means even after you see the 3 drop gotenks, the next ones are not dead cards in hand.

So like, this is going to sound odd. But I do NOT like Gotenks. My current trunks list is at 51 and I love it into TopKu and Yellow. But Gotenks 4 being a likely 3 of. The new Gotenks needing to be played around that too. Trunks automatically has copies due to 1 drop, but to put even more in? Plus Gotens? I think it takes up FAR too much space

The other part is removal. And while Vegeta gets a smoother Gotenks play, Trunks is able to reuse Pilaf, Piccolo, Pan, Trunks Harumaki etc etc. You get so many more cards out of his eff

Is the SR Mai from set 1 still worth running? It does get you closer to awakening, which in Trunks is more important than other leaders due to being able to bounce things earlier, gets those life into hand so you can see key cards like Sickle or Vegito earlier, and the draw effect is good lategame with lower hand

Top kinda builds a board too fast. You can deal with their boards turn after turn, but all the pressure from the attacks still stacks up.

the sr vegito combo as second players is perfect. your turn 2 you play vegito with energy bottemdeck enemy c2 card, than they play a c3 card or less, you play a vegito again and this time bottem deck his c3 card, than you enemy play his c4 card, your turn you play vegito and bottem deck his c4 card. its so powerfull and they cant remove a 25k body so easy unless they play a extra card.

that means, if you are going second and playing against red, yellow blue, you should muliggan for atleast 2 vegitos.

Yea this doesnt effect me playing green idc I beat 3 blue decks whocwas pulling that on me in a tournament

This is true, but being able to Vegito your opps turn 2 play on curve, hitting sickle plus a pilaf play on turn 4, hitting Zenoh on curve if needed is just overall the move imo : o
