Very useful info, never thought of using chicken liver nor can of tuna. I usually use only fish head and usually do the job but good to know other options.

Watch my video of seals taking bait out of crab rings. They take fish heads but not the other stuff. Also there are times of the year when fish heads are hard to come by. Thanks for watching!

It seems crabs are mostly attracted by the smell meaning smelly and preferably bloody baits seem to attract crabs more. ;p

What about Hardshell Clams(Gapers,Butters) and squid or Shad caught near the Columbia River ?? Those are my choices for crab bait the last 15yrs of Crabbing in Puget Sound and the Washington Coast.

You need to be careful about using recreationaly caught fish and clams for bait. Some are not legal.

Dungees love salmon period. Just get a solid trap and put a lot of weight in it.
