I used curl la la and my hair is set at least a week and a half. I get comments about how beautiful my hair looks and people are surprised when I tell them it's our a week old. I think a product can work on someone and don't on others. you will need to try and find what works for you. This is Nia hope experience. It can be different for you.. I used to like cantu custard, now i dont because of the flakes, and i noticed it was getting my hair dry. sooooo. Great video my dear

I agree, my hair loves Mielle and I believe it's best to apply products on newly shampooed & conditioned hair, the next day I hydrate with a hydrating mist and apply more product if needed. My coils are always poppin 😁👌🏾

I used to get flakes from that product also. But I noticed that you have to oil your hair before you apply it. I'm gonna use it until it finishes. But I love twisted Sister amazing dream gel. It works wonders....

Hi Nia! Glad you are back! I tried Aunt Jackie's and it sucked. I have 4c type hair times 1billion. The product left my hair dry and hard. My son has 4a hair. It looks good on him at first but by the end of the day it is very dry. I'm in the fourth month of trying to grow my crown back. I had a lot of damage like you. It's growing but slowly ( medication and stress doesn't help either). But I will try Cantu on my son. Thanks for your videos.

I use Aunt Jackie's and I have never an issue with the curl definition. But the one you should have put in the competition was Asiam...their products are the bomb...a little pricey but not as pricey as some of the ones you had on your list. Btw, you could have gone to the Family Dollar and got the Aunt Jackie's ALOT cheaper. Also, you should have put Shea Moisture in the competition.

You actually have mostly 4a, your curls are more c and s shaped than z. Also the thickness of each coil is 4a. I'm sorta happy for this because no custard I've tried really made my hair pop

I enjoyed this video and how you came to the conclusion that Cantu was the best product. I actually use Cantu, but not the custard. I recently cut my hair so it may work better, but I know that when my hair was longer it would flake real bad if I messed with my hair at all throughout the day,so I never really liked it. I just use the coconut curling cream, the leave in conditioner & the Comeback Curl spray.

I just want to share that the Cantu curl custard flakes in my hair and that the products that work best for me are from the Design Essentials line and/or custards that are more gel-like in substance than those that are creamy. I agree with you on the top two products. I have been natural for 10 years and I have 4C/4A hair. Kinky Curly was the first brand I used. It was expensive and hard to find back then but it kept my hair moist and my curls defined. After using As I Am, ORS, Carol's Daughter, Design Essentials, Taliah Waajid and Mixed Chicks, I, too, have found that Cantu performed just as well as Kinky Curly but at a lower price. I've been trying to find a product I like for my son who has different texture than my hair. I literally just tried cantu on his hair yesterday and I loved it!. I've previously tried shea moisture products, mielle and numerous other products closer to the natural products list. So after spending probably $100s on products that didn't work well in his OR even my own finer textured hair I was Very satisfied with Cantu in both of our hair which will save me a ton of money from here on out! Yay!

Thanks Nia! I'm doing the TWA thing and you helped me find the brand that works best for me (Cantu). Anyhow, I would hope that you would be willing to test a particular product, Palmers Coconut Oil Formula Moisture Boost Curl Refresher. It has coconut oil (natch) and tahitian monoi oil. It's supposed to hydrate and refresh, extend curls and reduce frizz. I may not be using it correctly, but I'd like to know what you think of it and how it works for you. Take care and thanks again!

Najla Muhammad everyone’s hair has a curl pattern. I think you should find out what your porosity is. I have low porosity I thought I didn’t have a curly pattern until I stopped using products that didn’t penetrate into my hair or had A LOT protein.

Faatima Dixon Do not try a texturizer you will ruin your hair. All hair is beautiful so just try different products to get the same look. For example if you have 4c hair and want these little coils try a coiling sponge :)

Very helpful video, succinct and clear. No distracting music. Your post filming voice over is great. I would have liked to have known how natural the products are though. Afro hair products have in the past container some highly dubious ingredients, not good for the long term health of the hair and the scalp. I wonder how many petrochemicals the two winning products contain. I suppose though that any of us interested in buying could easily look up the ingredients. It would also be interesting to see how your two favourites compare to the equivalent Pattern Beauty products. Many thanks

Omg Aunt Jackie's. Well, that brand is carried in Family Dollar. I love Family Dollar, but Ijs. .that's the first place I ever saw it. Also, I have cantu and miss jessie's. I Love my Miss Jessie's Coliy Custard. A little goes a long way. I also have Aussie Curl Custard which makes my hair crunchy. My next tester will be Cream of Nature. Thanks for the video.

I’m a naturalista and Aunt Jackie’s did not work at all for me either. My favorite product for my curls are Taliah Waajid Bamboo, Biotin, and Basil leave in conditioner on wet hair. Then I use Her new Apple and Aloe Nutrition Curl Definer. I’m going to try the Mop top from Amazon. Thanks for sharing!

Reason your hair dry and you add oil is due to the alcohol they put in Cantu. I dont want rubbing alcohol in my hair and that's why they prices drop as well.
