Tokyo DisneySea had a soft opening for Fantasy Springs on May 16, 2024, and I went to check it out! I saw how the Standby Pass works for the attractions and tried food I didn't get to last time. Also, experiencing Fantasy Springs at night!

Cardamom is a spice originally found in India. However, even though it's usually associated with Mediterranean and Asian cuisine it is also closely tied with Scandinavia, where Vikings brought over the spice around a thousand years ago. It's used in a similar fashion to ginger, meaning you'll find it in both sweet and savory dishes. Cardamom bread in Scandinavian countries like Sweden is usually sweet and served with tea.

I visited Tokyo Disney from May 14th to May 17th, with a heavy heart, I knew Fantasy Springs opened on June 6th but I couldn't find leave days throughout the year. I planned for Two days in Disneyland and Two days in DisneySea. Then surprise surprise on the 16th I noticed something in the app: "Fantasy Springs Entry Permitted Anytime." I had to confirm and reconfirm with a cast member just to believe it, and I still now couldn't believe my luck. I ate at Lookout Cookout, and managed to get Standby Passes for Rapunzel Festival and Peter Pan. Too bad I couldn't get Anna and Elsa's Journey, but I'm happy and grateful enough that I managed to experience at least two rides before the official opening!

We were lucky enough to go the day of the soft opening and lucky to run into Chris - hi Chris! We thought Peter Pan was the best. The pass system worked pretty well and we did all the attractions in DisneySea we wanted to see.

Definitely don't sleep on the Tinkerbell movies! I'm in my 30s and they are legitimately some of my favourite Disney films (The Secret of the Wings and Tinkerbell and the Never Beast are my two favourites). I watch them every time I need a pick me up.

Just be mindful...plant based sometimes isn't fully plant based. We got the plant based sandwich st Snuggly Duckling for our dairy allergic son and found out the bun contained dairy.

Finally got to see the merchandise! It all looks so cute! Cardamom is mainly used in Indian cuisine, especially in curries and rice. I'm surprised to see it used in Japan since it's not a spice I would associate them with. And it's really pungent and have a distinct flavour, so it's used very, very sparingly. That reaction to the food is correct, lol.

Cardamon is also often used in Nordic baking; the Swedish kardemummabullar sweet bun and Finnish sweet bread pulla feature it :)

I'm moving to Japan in July. I don't want to watch these attraction videos yet and ruin spoliers. I want to experience them in person. But for the people who have seen it, can you rank all the rides at Disney Springs from worst to best for me please. I'm sure they are all great, but I like saving the best ride for last. I'm sure Tinker bells busy buggies is the ride I'll go on first, but can someone rank the other 3 rides I'd appreciate it!

I haven’t had the chance to go, but based on his videos, it seems that the ranking from best to least best, because none are bad, would be Frozen, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell, but of course it’s subjective depending on your personal preferences.

Our best-to-least ranking was Peter Pan, Frozen, Rapunzel. We didn't do Tinkerbell, but presume it would be last for us. I agree that Frozen is SO much better than the WDW one. But Peter Pan blew us away.

Those LED lights are really doing a number on your camera! If it continues you should change your camera’s video recording refresh rate aka frame per second / fps to a slower one. I fixed my flicker by changing from 60fps to 30fps. Hope that helps! 😅

I can’t find the info online, but do you know if all the rides have an accessible boat for wheelchair user? Like one you can roll your wheelchair in or one that make the transfer easier? That’s the problem with boat rides. It’s so hard to get out cause it’s so low.
