I’ve been using this blitz/formation in madden for years. I like the 4 down lineman look and versatile of switching between the slot cb in deep zones or flat zones. It’s hard for your opponent to adjust to. The blitz isn’t as fast as other formations but I think it’s the most practical imo

I started off LOVING the 425. Been running BIG Nickel since Madden 18. But all my sweaty comp friends suggested 335 penny so I switched over. I think I sticking with Big Nickel because 3 down line gets GASHED!

I haven’t played the game yet but there should be an adjustment when picking the play, not presnap, that allows you to move your CB inside. I know it’s an option on ncaa 13, 14, etc. but yeah I would explore those a bit. Those are the small tweaks that throw the offense off. If it’s PvP, I doubt theyll pick up the small adjustments. Match Logic isn’t terrible, but match logic can be broken in real life, with the right combos. Against 2X2, cover 3 match is good, depending on what they run. Cover 4 Palms and Qrts, are better against trips.

I've seen too many inconsistencies in this game with match logic. Route depths can vary by 1 yard pretty easily just by getting bumped so it can make your zone play differently depending on how vertical a route gets. It's not like...the worst thing ever. You just can't depend on it.

It’s the same as madden it’s called a cover 3 shell instead of putting the outside corner on a deep out put him on a inside 3rd it baits the qb to try to stretch the field and just put both safeties on deep outs

There are some match coverage issues for sure. But you can mess the priniciples up in real life too.

@@charliesheppard3496 yeah I think the problem is EA doesn’t ever really tell you what the principles are so people would rather know their zones will be in a certain place than hoping they will. I forget which madden it was but if you played cover 4 match a streak out of trips would blow the entire coverage.

I'll typically mess with the flat zone depth. Sometimes I'll set it to 10 if they're taking a lot of checkdowns and I want to tackle them sooner.

In the video they're just on default but in game I recommend adjusting them as needed. 15 is a good place to start vs stemmed corner routes.

How do u have time pre-play to do all those customizations to the defense, on my Xbox Series X, in online games it's so laggy, I'm lucky to get one or two preplay customizations. Can you save a customized play to a slot so you don't have to do all the preplay stuff every time...?

Muscle memory. If you're new to the game - you have to practice unfortunately. It's all doable, trust me. But no you can't save a customized play you have to do it every time.
