Defense on this game was hard to figure out at first…Nickel 335 wide and 245 helped me keep from getting beat deep and with screens and stop the run. Thanks for the tips

Hey eric. To make this scheme better. Audible down from 2-4-5. It allows you to have a extra DB as the blitzer / coverage drop guy, rather then having a true LB.

5:46 no cap playing my big bro his first option is the running back so in that case instead of you going from the middle ( and perfectly faking out the d-line to even create the sack ) I’d go one pocket over nd do the same thing but instead of backing into middle coverage, you fake the rush, pull the analog back which will look like your recovering on 81 but really you gather your feet nd b-line for the flats. You may allow a few more seconds in the pocket but the initial confusion of the user’s movements will only allow a pass behind the line of scrimmage or a test of your user. Everything else is/ gets covered during the sequence. If you see this nd then you make this kind of a read to cover the flat, test it nd see how nasty it is 💯

Eric... I respect your uploads 100%, and I've ran this EXACT defense that you have demonstrated. I double mable and user the middle, and they run the ball all over me... forcing me out of that coverage, then i get burned. Its understood that "everything" can't be covered on a given play, but there HAS to be a good defensive setup out there that has good coverage and stops the bleeding. Give me something man... Its getting bad out here.

Great video. But to counter that, you can max protect with the o-line and have both the slots run streaks forcing the user to have to make a decision who to play. If they choose wrong, you have a huge advantage up the middle. In the cover 4, have your slot receiver run an out and your wideout wr run a slant. Again, you would be forcing the user player to make a decision. You could also run a curls with both those players.

I've been playing Madden since it's inception. No offense is unstoppable, no defense is shutdown. The game is more mental/ game planning. As usual, the game caters to the offense.

Depends on how you play. If you're an online player the main difference is going to be momentum and homefield. If you play Franchise there's a handful of changes there.

@@b-gamer340 Just don't hit turbo when you first catch it run a few yards then hit turbo...I've gotten plenty of pick 6 but if you hit turbo soon as you catch it somehow makes defenders faster and blockers can't keep up with you and you get hit...hope this helps

You can usually push your dbs back. Y left stick up then qb contain rb, rb then base align or press or whatever you wanna do. The qb contains work that way and its alot quick than doing them individually

Hey Eric if you set play the sticks to take off match coverage it also resets your zone drops. I was wondering why my defense wasn’t playing right and this was why. Does the mike blitz 3 match or is it just cover 3 with seam flats instead of curls? Because I like the defense but if it matches I’d rather run like Big Nickel Cover 3 and set my outside rusher and other lb to play flats and stuff. Thanks!

Would it work edge rushers playing the pass in the flats and linebackers playing the middle of the field in a cover 2 defense where safeties playing deep the two safeties. I played pass defense with edge rusher before but am not a really good Madden player. Not really even good either. I haven't played the new Madden but thinking about buying it now but haven't been playing videogames in a while now either used to play a lot though. In the last year been trying to learn how to auto paint more been getting a lot of products. I didn't get the PS5 though. They should make a customation thing in Madden you can set up the defense to make edge rushers go the way you want and set you can set it to go that way every time. I know about how you can do it the button thing with the safety, cornerbacks and linebackers but not with the edge rusher. But automatically be set every play for all positions to do what you want the play to do like by doing a customation audible by a defense you personally set up.

These type plays make me want to shut up and play franchise mode. I feel like if you hot route that many times, the developers should put in glitches like deep zones not working. Unless, you have it in arcade mode. then go wild
