What if you do not pay the fee one year (out of country or whatever reason) do you need to pay for years missed before it will work again? (I sometimes travel out of the country and am gone for a year or so).

Well you've given it the hard sell but as far as I can see I buy this thing, it works great with my car but then basically becomes brick if I don't cough up $100 each year just to keep using it. If I bought it, it works fine with my car, why should I have to pay each year to keep using it? Everything is a hustle these days.

just to get more clarification, the annual subscription for only updates (when updating to different vehicles), or is it to actually open and use the app? Can this product still be used after a year without the subscription for basic fault code reading ?

Yes for basic code reading I have the topdon but not the pro. To keep all the functions its 99$ a yr after the first year. First year is free

You have to update after a year which is $99.99 otherwise won’t let you do anything

Only works for phones with 64bit (4GM Ram + ) so even some brand new phones won't download the app. "App isn't compatible with device" Moto G Pure - Metro (incompatible) Most $100 smart phones won't work.
