Highly recommend using that instead!

When you select the channels at the very top and they're greyed out, members CANNOT view them. I tried it with a separate account. they always hide no matter what. the only way to fix this that i've found is to disable onboarding.

What do you think of using both onboarding for simple things and using the role react channels for a more broad variety of roles (including vanity roles)

yea this can definitely work! Onboarding also offers a post-join questions feature, which lets you setup reaction roles people can claim like vanity roles through the "Channels & Roles" tab at the top of the channel list at any time after joining. But you can definitely do traditional reaction roles through a bot for these as well if you want!

They won't get a "notification" for it necessarily. At the bottom when answering the questions, it will show them what roles they are getting when they choose their answer(s) tho!

Can I ask - after setting up the Default Channels why some are in blue and others grey? I wanted to add more to the default list but they remain grey. Update: I think I worked it out myself, I believe it's because they are added to resources so I can't have them as defaults.

I am not sure if I am alone in this, but unfortunately, for me at least, onboarding is really buggy and a bad overall experience. Most of the members keep saying that when they click the "Channels & Roles" they get a message saying "There are no customisation options yet". It also happens to me as well, as the owner of the server and I can't find any solution online, which is disappointing.

Will the onboarding only work for new members or will it pop up for existing members to have these options?

It won't give existing users the pop up, as that only happens upon joining, but they will still be able to select roles via the "channels and roles" button that will be at the top of the server. It's best to just send out an announcement for your existing members letting them know to get there to claim the new roles you setup

yes! They can go to the Channels & Roles tab that will be at the top of the channel list and update their roles at any time

Hey boss! I love your work. Has been very helpful. But. I just did the onboarding process and realized the server guide moves channels out of there categories and now I cannot access anything to change what I put in the server guide itself. How do I edit the onboarding process. It won’t even let me turn it off and on?! Panic mode enabled 😮

Yea I dont use the server guide personally because any channels you put in it I'm pretty sure get removed from the actual channel list and are accessible through server guide only. To edit this, go to Server Settings > Onboarding and you can edit everything here, even disable server guide if you want. And thank you for the kind words!

When assigning the KZbin Pings role, how do you make it so that the users get notifications to those channels? The role itself, how do you set it up?

the role is the notifications! So whenever i post a video here on youtube, in my discord server, i post the video and tag the @VideoPings role, and anyone that has claimed that role will get a notification for that message. To setup the role itself, just go to Server Settings > Roles and you can create new roles there

Some of my default channels aren't showing up for members when they join, neither can be selected from "channels and roles" section (they don't appear). But if they select "show all channels" settings they can see them. What should I do?

Do these channels happen to be on your Server Guide as Resource channels? If so, resource channels don't appear on the channel list and only in the Server Guide address

In my preview its asking users to chose their assigned role - why is that? I'm using the Sapphire bot but in my preview I am noticing that being asked which I find odd.

You can, they are just in a different place. Server Settings > Safety Setup > DM And Spam Protection > Members must accept rules before they can talk or DM

you can't, the whole purpose of this feature is for open selectable roles by members when they join. If it needs to be approved by an admin, then you just need to have a channel where users request a role and you then give it to them or dont give it to them

this is a feature that you cant really setup for a server with all channels locked behind a role. It requires a minimum of 5 open chatting channels that anyone with no roles can access, so you would need to have that to set this up
