Great review on the shoes man. As you know, I’ve also picked up some new cycling gear recently including a new pair of shimano RC3 shoes. The first thing you mentioned is that you have 200 miles on your shoes. Do you usually replace your road/MTB shoes when you hit a certain amount of miles or do you replace them when they’re basically torn apart? I’m thinking about getting a second pair of road shoes that’s why. The bloopers bro… hilarious! 🤣
@TrailSage3 жыл бұрын
Great question Marvin. Shoes, especially road shoes can last a very long time if you take care of them. I usually replace them once they begin falling apart, not by mileage.

@@TrailSage Will do. I think the latest version has a stiffer sole, which should offer a bit more support for my old Shimano SPD 747 pedals. 747s are great and pretty bulletproof, but they're not huge. Cheers!

Have you tried the new AM903’s yet? Ordered myself a pair, would be interesting to see how they compare to the 902’s. Though they don’t look radically difference, just minor cosmetic changes..
@TrailSage2 жыл бұрын
I have not but I would love to get my hands on a pair. I agree they don't look much different. How do you like yours?
@cammoandy64983 жыл бұрын
I have the old Grey 901 version like yours. I have wide feet and they fit me perfectly. Other reviews have mentioned they taper in a bit more at the toe. Have you noticed whether this has altered the comfort of the shoe? Obviously it depends on your foot shape but what’s your experience with the sizing?
@TrailSage3 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy, those 901s were awesome right?! I wish I could compare the toe box for you, but I trashed the old ones after doing the review. I have not noticed any difference in tightness, but like you said everyone's foot is different. If you end up pulling the trigger let me know what you think of the fit. I think you will love it.

Hello, help me on the size issue. I've a Shimano XC7 cross country shoes witch are a 46/11.2. But I've read that this AM9 are bit small compared other shoes. What do you think, are all Shimano shoes created equal or this ones are bit more tight. Thanks, great video.

What if I had a favorite shoe already but it wasn't as good in the wet? Would you recommend a cover for my shoe or that I just switch to the shimano?
@TrailSage3 жыл бұрын
While I love my AM9s, if you are happy with what you are currently using I would stay with it Klips. I would not recommend any sort of cover because you will reduce the breathability of your shoe. Instead, see if a waterproofing spray helps, I know Grangers makes a good one. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching.
@Klips0053 жыл бұрын
@@TrailSage I'm sorry I meant for long rainy days or short downpours in hot weather...you think spray covers that?
@TrailSage3 жыл бұрын
@@Klips005 Ah, thanks for the clarification. No, the spay will not help with that. The problem is the water will come in from the top by our ankle, collar and tongue. I'm not sure any shoe would do well in those conditions, lol. I will say having a shoe that drains fast will be your best option. For that, I would recommend the AM9s
