The reason why tanjiro kept saying to get his body heat up is because the more oxygen he took in with total concentration breathing the more and faster his blood flow would be which in turn makes his body heat skyrocket but it is also the realm where a slayer performs towards their peak. Excluding a couple other things which will be learned later down the line.
