Tokyo (I'm obviously biased as I live here) - but I noticed that people even though stern and cold with other tourists, they will lighten up if they see kids and older people :) Plus it offers so many giveaways for kids and the shops that actually interest them!

I saw Liam's video where he was teaching people 5 words in Italian - he did well for someone trying out Italian! I only have two points that may help not only him but others. The first is that "vorrei" is emphasized on the last syllable: vorr-EI (he pronounced the vowels correctly, so good job!). The second is "grazie" (the "e" on the end is a long-a sound, like in "hey"), not grazia (an "ah" sound on the end). Grazia is singular and means "grace"; grazie is plural and means "graces", and it's the plural that is used as "thank you". Some regional languages and dialects may shorten the end sound, but overall, it's grazie. Still a great effort on his part, and I'm sure it helped many people!

When I was in Paris I noticed that they do enjoy kids and kinda encourage them to be loud/playfull - it does get a tad irritating after a while (especially in buses), but I can imagine it being cool for the families

Its very expensive in Gamla stan or Östermalm. Södermalm is much better! You can get a beer for 3-4 dollars here. Locals dont eat in Gamla stan, they go to Södermalm. Im not saying Stockholm isnt expensive - it is! But I think its not as bad as people think either. A lot of things are free/low cost as well like museums or sl ferry boats, metro art and so on. 🙂

When my daughter was a kid she hated going om vacation. Not anoiher Museum, no more ruins and so on was all we heard. Her idea of a great vacation was laying at the beach or pool all day for one or two week.

We had a fantastic time in Denmark renting a car and doing a road trip (Copenhagen, Faxe, Odense, Billund/Legoland, and Aarhus). Faxe had a great geo museum my son loved and we did an open air museum in Odense that was a lot of fun. The workers in the blacksmithing hut had us captivated for almost an hour! We also stopped in Talinn Estonia on a cruise and I would like to go back. The castle walls were really cool and there were a ton of museums to visit that are kid-friendly.

Prague is a great place to visit with little kids. They even have an entire island in the river designate entirely to kids. The Honest Guide has made a great video about Prague with kids. Both my goddaughter and her little sister had loved it when we visited Prag. They even enjoyed the long train ride. Especially the little one keeps asking when we will make a journey with a long train ride again.

If you work abroad - fine, take your children. Most parents who take children abroad do so because the parents want to go abroad. Children will be happy in the local park with a sandwich. It's far cheaper and less hassle. I was born and schooled overseas, and speak several languages - something a child will not experience on a 2 week holiday in a hotel.

Vienna was kid friendly for us and our 7 year old son. During the summer kids get to ride public transportation for free, my son loved eating Weiner schnitzel since it reminded him of chicken fingers, so many beautiful spacious parks and playgrounds to run around and play in, the children's museum at the Schonbrunn palace was cool, many of the museums are amazing there, safe and quite organized compared to other big cities, and excellent varieties of sweets and treats there. We would definitely go back to Vienna again with our son.

Your kids maybe but generally kids hate museums. Are super boring. Especially for small kids and also it depends on what the museum has (for example ancient artifacts, sculptures are super boring). If a hotel is near beach or has the room pool outside they prefer to stay there all day on water and play.

As someone from Stockholm, Im not afraid to have my kids right here, in Stockholm city. There are great parks around the city where you can go swim, great playgrounds.. lots of nature.. a lot of kindergardens all around.. museums where they have kids activities.. Skansen is great! Its also "cheap" having kids here, like cheap kindergardens, barnbidrag (child allowance) and so on. In some areas kids go out them self and play football and such. Gamla stan and Norrmalm area is not so good for kids though I would choose other areas. Preferebly an apartment close to a park or in my dreams a house. Yes they do exist. You can actually live in a house right in the city center. But they are super super hard to get.🙂

What is the immigration situation in Stockholm? Ive heard in schools in classes there will be 20 Syrians and 2 swedes, scary for young girls to walk alone because rape rate almost 1 girl in 4 raped. Is that true? I live in Estonia but I thought Stockholm best city in the world and thought about buying a flat there but these problems stopping me.
@thobrik
@thobrik 4 күн бұрын
@hugoandme You have heard mostly myths. There are some areas with a lot of immigrants, yes. This is similar to most bigger cities in northern and western Europe. Rape statistics in Sweden is done in a very different way than other countries. For example, we have a very "wide" definition of rape where violence is not required, you are assumed to not be able to give consent if you are very intoxicated, and also rape can be committed with hands/fingers. Furthermore, Sweden adds every report of rape immediately to the statistic, where many countries add only after someone has been convicted in court. When corrected for this, rapes committed in Sweden goes from 63 in 100.000 per yeat to 15 in 100.000 which is closer to Austria/Luxembourg.
@thobrik
@thobrik 4 күн бұрын
You decide for yourself in the end. But don't base your decision only on rumors you heard on the internet. Read up on real statistics, and talk to real swedes. They will mostly tell you that yes, we have problems here, and yes maybe avoid some areas at night. But most will tell you Sweden is very safe and that they are not afraid to walk around and live freely here.

Did not find a toilet without poop all over it. Because of terrorist tread there was armed military everywere. Would never bring my kid to that city. I have a lot of family that love it there so it could be i met Paris on a bad day. But my advice is dont do Paris and don't do Brussels with kids.

On first impressions Stockholm feels like a super safe city, but it has a much higher honicide rate than most European cities, and Malmo an d Gothenburg even more so. This is due to the amount of illegal guns that have gotten into the hands of criminals and the fact that there has been way too much immigration in the past 20 years and many of the 2nd generation immigrants are living in poor and economically deprived suburbs of Stockholm away from the tourist areas where there isnt much opportunity.
@k.j.hulander2204
@k.j.hulander2204 5 күн бұрын
This is nonsense. Even Malmo which has the highest crime rate in Sweden has a lower violent crime rate than, among others, Brussels, Paris, London, Athens, Milan, Florence, Dublin, Tallin, Vilnius, etc. The whole narrative of Sweden as crime infested is driven by Russian psy ops along with their traitorous enablers in the alt-right, anti-immigrant parties and political groups in Europe and the US. Outside of domestic violence, violent crime in Sweden almost only affects other criminals. Poverty in Sweden is defined vastly different than most of Europe and the type of destitution you find in countries like Britain and most of Eastern Europe is essentially unheard of.

I'm Dutch. Amsterdam is probably one of the least kid friendly places in the Netherlands. Drugs, prostitution and stag parties aren't that great for kids. I would rather take them to The Hague or Utrecht or just any other city. Or even better: the island of Texel. That was probably my favourite destination as a kid.

@@bubee8123 maybe you just engage in unsafe activities or don't follow basic safety advice/common sense. I'm English and take my kids to London fairly regularly, central London is great for kids and is no less safe than any other major big city. I'd highly recommend London for a break with kids as there is loads to do, just pay attention to your surroundings and be on the lookout for common scams and you'll be fine.
