Pain and/or lack of energy later in the day. There are many possible causes, the quality of my exercises might not be on point? I'll definitely try those!

@@TheDailyPush Talk about the perfect warm up. I went light with the kettle bell and still got plenty of leg burn. It actually got me excited to skate being fully warm before stepping into the park! Thanks guys!

Hey man. What is the best exercise someone can do that's had both Achilles tendons torn and all the ligaments around them? When it happened to me my job was supposed to put me on light duty but their idea of light duty was walking 12 miles a day all day long checking in vehicle inventory..so my ankles and everything didn't heal right. Now I have kids and they want to skate so I got back into it but anything other than riding around and pushing around it feels like my ankles want to buckle... It sucks I refuse to fail at this. I've never seen my kids want to do something so bad and they want me to be the one to teach them.

Hey man sorry to hear that! I would hit up a physiotherapist. In a nutshell the key to recovering from tendon issues is progressively increasing the tolerance of the tendons to the kinds of forces you experience skating, through resistance training and skating itself. But the key is to be real progressive. A bit of pain in the moment is ok (less than like 3/10), IF it doesn't hurt more a couple of hours later or the morning after. If for whatever reason you can't hit a physio, this website has achilles tendon rehab programs for free - www.exakthealth.com/plans

Bit if random advice but regular hot baths, then massaging your achiles tendin to increase blood flow to them, try and use a magnesuim lotion on them. Also, hot towel compression or cloths.. but definitely regularly massage and do physio for them. I'd recommend cal raises

In this one I think he was using a 12kg KB, but the weight you pick is going to depend on you. Pick a weight that allows you to maintain good form up to the last rep and that doesn't leave you pulling up the next day absolutely throttled!

I think this particular one was 12kg. But the choice of weight is dependant on your level and where you're at. Something like an adjustable kettlebell or dumbells are better if you plan on just getting one piece of equipment, as they allow for better progression and can be used in so many more exercises.

To give feedback, I think 35 lb was a bit heavy. My main weekness/pain source is my right knee and doing this exercise daily has increased the pain to the point where I stopped exercising and skating for a couple of days. I'm planning to buy a new lighter kettle bell of around 20lb.
