Fun fact: drops from statues are 8 times more rare, so if you're farming for the slime staff, there'll be a 1 in 80,000 chance of it dropping after killing the slime

for anyone coming into this at 1.4.4 or later, Statue farms need minions to work, statue mobs need either the player or a minion to kill the mobs to get drops now as of one of the patches that came out within the last year

@@msalda96 I honestly don't have a recommendation, I usually just put a bit of lava in the chamber and then use any minion, because all you have to do is do damage at some point before it dies to get the drops

That's actually the case for all statues except the slime and armed zombie statues. I'm not sure if it's correct but the official wiki states the slime and zombie statue spawned enemies do will drop loot if killed by trap or lava.

The gnome farm isn't useless. The point of collecting gnomes is that you can place them and they'll give a small luck bonus, so farming them and putting one at each of your farms is a useful way to add extra drop-chance of rare items. Also you don't need both gem trees and housing, so long as you set up a small town (2 houses+) in the underground gem critters will spawn, they also spawn if gem trees are around, but you don't need both to get results.

Actuator Planter farms are simple and with some Conveyor blocks will bring the product to you. Just make them in the suitable Biomes that boost the crops potential. Flip the switch which turn the solid part of the planter off and the Actuator creates an instant harvest effect. Harvest conditions still apply though. Like location, weather, and time.

You can make some crazy afk farms. Farming in Terraria is super underrated, and you'd be amazed at what you can automate. For example a fully automatic obsidian farm, using for the worthy skeletron prime to break the obsidian. By the way, no gem trees are needed to spawn gem critters, just the npcs are needed

For the Rod of Discord Farm, Grappling counts as moving as well, you can just grapple to the top of your safety box and it will do the exact same thing as using a flying mount or the frog leg system Edit: Shadow candles completely nullify the need for movement, you just need to make a graveyard biome, plop down a crafting bench and get a torch and three of your evil biome's ore bar types and you can craft it (Ecto mist naturally generates, and functions like water does in crafting bottled water in the game)

3:55 add some conveyor belts to force some enemies into the Lava and a NPC room and this works wonders against invasions, the Goblin Army especially this works well against, as for keeping moving, Minecart + bumpers should work just fine, and it provides some defense if you can go fast enough by running over enemies that attack you and you can add dart traps and a heart statue, etc., to it, just make sure to stagger the dart traps firing, and hook the heart statue up to a 3 or 5 second timer. If you want to pretty it up, make a fake hallway entrance somewhere under your farm then actuate and echo coat a Teleporter infront of the door.

"Gnome farm doesn't have a use" You can turn gnomes into Garden Gnomes which are a peaceable furniture object that gives a luck bonus to anyone in range. Luck increases drop rates. far from useless

I can simplify a invasion farm to this: Door, Titanium armor, a area to trap nimus cloud enemies, a minion focusing on the cloud. All other enemies will walk into the titanium barrier and die, and the cloud being attacked replenishs it

One of the best farms is buying Pumpkin seeds from the Dryad, planting them then making Pumpkin Pies for a medium all-stat boost. Alternatively you can just throw some cacti in shimmer for pumpkins.

Simplest money farm is still the star farm. All you need is blocks at the sky level and run back and forth all night or if you want to get fancy use teleporters or a mine cart track.

a REALLY easy money farm is a granite elemental farm. Use granite elemental statues hooked up to a timer with little lava under them, then just afk. These drop “Geodes” which act like treasure bags, and drop gems. They stack up quickly, and after you sell all the gems you get a LOT of gold.

Honey is a lot more useful if you buy bubble blocks from the Party Girl & suspend it in the air as a single block to run through. Best if you place it in the middle so you have time to build boot speed as you approach & lose less time if you're in a rush, but I've made setups were you can just stand in it too lol. Careful not to place the block at face level though if you do that :P It'll drown you

Yep indeed bubble blocks did the trick a long time aggo. Ever try'ed to slot 1 bucket of honey into your slot bar and move the cursor over your character and then press the left mouse button twice so you pour the honey over yourself and catch the honey back up in the bucket right away so you are no longer in need to build the honey pools with multiple buckets? :p

@@Nhatanh0475 It will be good according to your gameplay. 1. You can make honey pools where you step into as you run over them. 2. You can make honey bubbels because if you have the full upgraded terrarian boots, you will walk over the pool so then bubbels are better so you can walk true the bubbel. 3. Or using the 1 slot honey bucket method since it doesn't slow you down like the other 2 methods do. Allso keep in mind that when you use the terrarian boots and you fly in air and drop a bucket on yourself that it will start to fall down and you will automaticly go stand on top of it and falling down allong with it which means that you are standing with your feet on "ground" and giving you a refresh on your flight time aswell. So yeah it will be according to your gameplay what's trick does the best.

You can make a crystal dupe that is really good for money where you place two blocks two blocks away and place a platform and hammer it into a stair on the right side then place a crystal shard on the open spot in between the two blocks

I don't know if it is fixed or something but my rod of discord farm isn't working on 1. 4. 4 .9 version anymore I use mount / grappling hook to "make the player move" because holding the spacebar and finding frog legs just for the farm is too annoying but it seems like it doesn't work anymore Can anyone confirm this or has a new farm that is truly 100% afk and we don't have to do anything?

the grappling hook doesnt seem to work anymore, i suggest you fish for crates so you get the frog leg and resort to autojumping, that works like a charm. and dont forget that where you stand, you shouldnt have walls behind you!

What wait...honey slows you down? Are ppl still making honey pools to step true? 1. Slot 1 bucket of honey into your hotbar. 2. Now move your cursor with the bucket selected on top of your charracter. 3. click twice on the left mouse button. e voila...you just learned one of the most OP tactics in the game! You can ramp up the difficulty from normal to expert or from expert to master just by learning this tactic. :p Allso another "farm" not mentioned into this video but exactly the same as slime and jellyfish farms is the mana star farm!!! Magic users can make the exact same farms in there arenas wich will make it like that if the slime or jellyfish dies when you have spend any mana point.... They will drop mana stars for you to recover your mana pool while fighting!!!!!! So using the most powerfull magic weapons that soaking your mana and being in need to stop dps'ing or potting you into mana sickness aint needed anymore if you just make such a trap into your arena. :p
