Just found this video. Awesome suggestions, I am really liking your Danny Gevirtz suggestion. One of my new favorites is COMV and Robert Machado, they both have awesome behind the scenes of actual client projects. So many nuggets of information on youtube! Thanks for sharing.

Duuude I love COMV too! Definitely a great channel for getting the on set experience without leaving your seat. So needed while I'm locked in my house...

It's great to see that you don't just pick the top flimmakers in this niche. I personally really enjoy finding someone a bit smaller because, like you said, they tend to have more helpful info instead of solely trying to entertain folks. It's what I try to do in my own youtube videos. :) Keep it up!
@WhatAboutTom4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed. I like to think that all major KZbinrs in the same niche have secret clan meetings every week to discuss the next video topic they're going to post about. Sometime's you'll get Peter and Matti posting the exact same video as each other (but with a slightly different title) within days of each other, or sometimes on the same day. Can get annoying.

Hey Tom! This was great. Thanks for putting this together! If you haven't already, I'd also check out the Wandering DP. He takes high-end commercials and does cinematography breakdowns on how it was created.

Agreed. I stopped trying to learn from Matti and Peter well over a year ago. Aputure, Indy Mogul, Danny Gevirtz, Mark Bone, Spenser Sakurai, Robert Machado 👍

@WhatAboutTom4 жыл бұрын
Film Riot is one of my all-time favorite KZbin filmmaking channels, but I feel like their content has fallen off a bit from years past. They made way better (and more consistent) content around 2014-2016. Idk what happened, but they just started making less interesting stuff.
@SIMPLIFIEDFILMING4 жыл бұрын
@@WhatAboutTom I think their content is more interesting for the developing filmmaker. But beginner filmmakers are intermediate I agree that it is less interesting and way less tutorial based. And more informational

Not a word on "Make Art Now" tho... Thats a one awesome channel! The guy is Josh Yeo, have you seen his new and sweet "Anamorphia" video? You like definitely have to see it! It will blow your mind!
@WhatAboutTom4 жыл бұрын
I do love Josh ahaha. I've watched some of his videos and he's a good creator. Anamorphia was pretty cool. I didn't include him because, while he does make some really creative stuff, he has a lot of recycled content as well. "10 tips to Improve your Sound Design", "How to Shoot Epic B-Roll", that kind of stuff. He puts his own spin on certain things, but really only puts out more creative stuff every 4-5 videos. This list is mainly comprised of extremely unique channels compared to all the mainstream stuff that gets shovelled at you on KZbin.

Good list but you lost me at potato jet. It’s just gear reviews. Always. If you’re a filmmaker, show me what you make, ya know, credibility. The rest of the list is quality...although Caleb is one of my faves...Gerald is clearly more thorough, specifically with camera reviews/tests.
