I’ve refreshed stained lampshades by wrapping vintage tatted dresser scarves around them. I thread narrow ribbon through one of the long sides and gather the fabric as though it were a full skirt. With the gathered edge of the scarf at the top of shade, pull the ribbon taut and tie in a bow. It will hang beautifully. If you have a staff of vintage linens, as many of us do, free one a king lampshade.

I’ve had the picture of the old man praying for over 20 years and my oldest sister gave it to me. I have no idea how long she had it. I’ve tried to put another picture in my dining room but I can’t get rid of the old man. I love that picture. Love the lamps you bought.

I believe it’s named, “ Give us our daily bread “. My Mother had it hanging in our dining room growing up. Love it. Such a feeling of humbleness & gratitude come from it.

It is titled "Grace" a painting by Rhoda Nyberg from a 1918 photograph. The subject's name is Charles Wilden.

My grandparents had the Grace picture in their dining room when I was growing up. Grandpa was a Lutheran pastor. I sure wish I had that picture today. It would find a place in my home. Thanks for the beautiful memory!

I like the lamps. The shades are nice. You could just recover them pretty easily. I would've had to get the rectangular silverplate casserole holder. They look really nice with old books lined up in them.

For the lamp shades that you were afraid to wash, another girl bought some and put them in the tub and scrubbed them with a brush and dawn dish soap and air dried outside and they were fine. If you like yours but your going to buy some new ones anyway, you have nothing to lose to try to wash them...Hope it all works out! All the best!

It’s Roman numerals and it’s how they keep people from taking stickers off other items and changing prices. They have a special code! Lol

Because people try to change the stickers so they use Roman numerals to know the price and also the stickers fall off a lot.
