After I watched your video, I got my coffee grinder out and put the clumps of garlic powder in. It worked beautifully.

Thankyou 😁 Got a whole bunch of stuff for grilling a few years back. Its just me so it all seized up. Very helpful for the kitchen challenged.

OHMY! You are the perfect person to ask. What would you suggest if someone put a salt shaker with salt in it, into the dishwasher 😢 and now it’s like cement? There is only a small hole in the bottom of the jar. Please and thank you!!!

I would try submerging the salt shaker in water. Salt will dissolve in water. It may take some time, but it should work eventually. 😊

I just purchase 2 different spices,and as I went to use the 2. They're New/ clumpy inside, that's Not cool at all. if I am not mistaken, ( didn't the older generation use macaroni in spice containers with their spices to keep fresh/ from clumping/ Lumping together. I might have to try it for my self.

And rice for smaller hole shakers works well too

How did you get the hard garlic out of the jar
@homemakingjewels21 күн бұрын
@@melissamartin632 I hack at it with a butter knife and break it into pieces small enough to get out of the jar. Caution - I’ve broken a jar with this method! 😬

I have a glass vial with onion powder in it...i try to scrape it with a fork to get a few bits out lol...is it possible to put a little water in there to moisten it and then dig it out and grind it up? or will that mess with the overall taste of the onion powder?
@homemakingjewels10 ай бұрын
Generally, the reason the spices go hard is because of moisture. Is there room to add some rice? The rice might pull out enough moisture to soften the powder. Then it might break apart easier to remove from the jar. Just be sure to remove the rice before you start breaking up the spice. Keep in mind, I’ve never done this before but I think it’s worth a try. If you try it, let me know how it goes! 😊

@@homemakingjewels lol well there is a little room at the top of the vial... I'll throw some rice in for a few days and see what happens lol... thank you for the response 🙂

The problem is I can’t remove it from the jar

I had to take a knife and break up the spice in the jar into pieces that would fit through the opening.

Also, if there is room in the jar, try adding some dry rice to it. That may soften the spice enough to break it up easier. Just be sure to pour the rice out of the jar before breaking up the spices!

That's just gonna get hard again immediately. You have to remove the moisture
