Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. This was too good... I was heartbroken when I found out what the lyrics meant. If you don't know what the lyrics mean, it's about a legend, Divide. He created the character design of silly Billy but then sadly passed away while having cancer but he died in his sleep. At least he died peacefully. The lyrics are saying how proud he would have been of silly Billy. You can also see the girlfriend's soul (the red when it says long enough) and her singing after the soul appears. Lore not included: This guy's name is Yourself. He is a Bf AU, and not an Exe. The thing is he lost his Gf in the AU, Herself. Her loss is the reason he looks like this, he is so disheveled because he no longer has the will to live. This song is his last throes where he reaches out to an alternate self for acknowledgement. What he doesn't know is that she has yet to pass on, and instead lives in his mic. She is the one to enable him to cross dimensions is her. You can see it in the whole video, with his mic glowing red when it hits Bf. More relevant to this, when you pause at the "Just loooong" part, what you thought was just red particles was actually her disembodied red spirit. Pause it.
