Very Very good ! Nobody understands that the little plug is NOT 1/8 npt thread . Its 8mm by 1.0 bolt thread and it just floats in the hole and leaks !!! Even Ford calls that plug 1/8 pipe thread when its NOT . Thanks so much for this info ! That bleeder screw works great .

So after doing this job myself. U don't need that special fitting. Only need a 1/8 double threaded adapter same thread as center nut on drain. Your gonna install that same pump tube to the other end once in the transmission and it's all you need. No more than 4 bucks at home depot.

I don't know if you monitor this post since it is a couple 5 years old but, if you do I just hit your link to amazon to purchase the fill adapter and it is listed as currently unavailable. Do you know if there are any other vendors?

Good method. i just put the plastic taper top that comes on most gear oil bottles on a bottle of mercon and squeeze it into the hole. I can squeeze about 80% of the bottle into the hole. Then, pour the remainder into the next quart container, and squeeze it in, etc until I see it level out during bottle changes. Kinda messy, but quick and accurate and zero cost. Reason i don't buy the adapter is that Ford has a couple different sized adapters (thread sizes) and the aftermarket uses their own sizes... just a pain.

The only problem with that adaptor is it protrudes past the bottom of the transmission sump bottom ????. Yes ???? Likely to be ripped off in rough country 4WD .
