That is the cleanest install I've ever seen. Amazing job, dude! 73, KC1GZR

Very nice install. I hope they create something similar for the 2024 Ranger Raptor.

@@TrailCartel Thanks, I just velcro'd it in the sunglass holder on the Ranger Raptor and it closes fine and stealth. Super easy install!

Looks great. What are you doing for an antenna setup with the aluminum body? On my ‘15 F-150 I have a lip mount at the top of the rear drivers side door. Thinking of getting the BulletProof Diesel mount for the 3rd brake light but wow, they are expensive.

I am running the RPG third brake light kit. I ran the BulletProof mount on my F250 and it’s great option. If you don’t need the dust lights the BulletProof mount is the way to go.

I drilled a hole through the roof right over the center brace running from front to back. I have a flexible antenna so hopefully there’s no issues there. If there is…guess I’ll trade it in for the R

How did you go about installing the base radio unit? Assuming you put it behind the right rear seat area? Thanks!

Will that exact radio work on gmrs frequency or do I need to get a ham license…
@soloban8126 күн бұрын
The IC-2730 will receive GMRS but will not transmit on those frequencies. You will need a HAM Technician license to use it.
@KngPin726 күн бұрын
Thank you! In your experience are more people using gmrs radios on the trail since it’s easier to get the license vs ham license… I love your install to bad it won’t work with other radio types.

Thanks! Most clubs/events are using GRMS. Some are still using CBs like the RedRock4x4 club that runs EJS. I keep hand held radios in my Jeep just encase.
