Orqa = $570. RapidFire = $150. Antennas = $30. Battery cable = $10. Total cost is $760 for analog goggles (with HD capability if you spend ANOTHER $100+ on a module). Is that reasonable in 2022?

"I think we've got to start this review by saying" these Porqa pilot goggles are $569 and most people will add a Rapidfire analog module ($150) to them, and 2 antennas for at least $30, so these goggles cost $749 ... FOR PLAIN OLE ANALOG! 😳 Secondly, THAT'S INSANE TO SPEND $749 for friggin' analog FPV!!! 🥴😭 Of course, you still have to outfit you're quad with a top quality VTX (~$50), a great camera (~$40), and a receiver (~$25). You're not gonna use low end gear with this category of goggle, right?! So, your 1st quad is ready to fly for approx. $865 ! That doesn't get you a quad, that just gets one you already own, ready to fly analog with these goggles... Nope, haven't even begun to bring digital FPV into the conversation! Ridiculous! 🙃😲🤯😰

My Orqa v1's have taken two vacations to Croatia in the year I've had them. First for a dead fan, and most recently to have Orqa look at noisy video input. They're on their way back to me having been declared "absolutely nothing wrong with them". If that's true, I don't understand AT ALL why the Orqa is considered a contender. I recently picked up a pair of HDO 2's and they blow my Orqa's out of the water in terms of visual clarity and lack of video noise from the VRX (I have both RapidFire and Fusion). It's not even close. When my Orqa's get back I'll post a video to show what I mean. Also, did they fix the buzzing issue when recording with an external microphone? This is a very good review, I have only see one better 😉😂. Price has become an bit of the elephant in the room for these goggles. I was luckily I got to spend a few weeks with them and frankly they are fantastic. As you say the menus, the local audio and ability to record the HDMI is fantastic as a creator too. The IQ improvements remain questionable but the FOV is Ok overall and 99% will be happy imo. These are with out question a premium set of goggles with premium features but they are not an upgrade for current users and they remain a giggle for people who are currently not using O4X or HDO2s. The real issue with the Pilots and is the pricing and how that’s perceived, there has just been some complains over the review where in AU they said they are over $1000 au that does not quite align with other pricing however the fact remains these goggles are a expensive purchase and you will need to spend more after the main outlay in many cases and this is putting people off. Many people they may not be upgrading from goggles that has a rapidfire or a quality external module so it’s additional cost to them. Then you have the connect module, this IMO should be standard part of the product but no it’s an additional $65+ on the price. In the end users can be spending $200 on top of the cost of the goggles to get a premium setup. And before it’s said yes I know Fat Shark don’t include module but Fat Shark should not be the benchmark here. Skyzone should be. I know Orqas costs and pricing will be higher being an European manufacture and having to fund their support ect but they need to do something here with some of this. My $150 Radio has WiFi, as does my $12 ELRS receiver. so why is is costing $65+ for the Orqas as an extra. I loved the goggles tbh but I could just not justify the additional £200 in the U.K. over the 04X. I would loved to have had those premium features but they were not worth $ £200 to me personally. Great review, great product. But a hard sell.

⚠️ QUESTION .. HDMI ONLY GOGGLES. (No RF or analog anything required) Hi Joshua and KZbin world. I am NOT a legit FPV pilot. I am more of DJI camera drone hobbyist. (Air 2s and Mavic 2 zoom and soon a Mavic-3) I do have a DJI FPV Racer drone and Goggles v2. The dilemma is…. I want to use the Goggles v2 with the Mavic drones but they have locked out that feature and probably do not plan on development. I have the DJI Goggles RE and used to use them and was very happy with the performance and picture. (bound to the Mavic-2 and with the Air-2s using both the original Smart Controller and now the RC-Pro to feed HDMI out from th controller to the micro HDMI input on the Goggles RE. Problem - I have a pretty severe form of spondyloarthritis (ankylosing spondylitis) which has fused my entire spine. I just cannot tolerate the weight of the Goggles RE but CAN easily handle the Goggles v2. As a “workaround”, I tried taking the HDMI output of the smart controller (and RC-Pro) and sent through an HDMI to A/V converter and fed that signal through the 3.5mm A/V input on the goggles. The picture quality was horrible ! And the aspect ratio all messed up. So.. I am thinking of going with a lightweight set of goggles fed directly from the HDMI output of either smart controller. What would you recommend? I do not need analog at all. I don’t need any receivers or anything on the RF side of things either. I just want the best quality picture as I can achieve at a low weight. (While cost is not terribly important at this point… i WOULD like to stay below $700 or so.) Any recommendations? THANK YOU !!! (and thanks to you / Ken Heron / Originaldobo for getting me somewhat into a hobby that has made me incredibly happy and frees me from my decrepit and failing body. LOL )

@neale32 жыл бұрын
Scale down to 10% so you can barely read the osd then it's the same
@KOrnhOliO12 жыл бұрын
The FOV of the DJI goggles is 54%. You can adjust it down, by 10% increments, to 90%, 80%, etc. The thing that is not equal, is the VAST SIZE of the screens in the DJI goggles VS. the tiny little screens of the Porqa's. The DJI's are very immersive, where the Porqa goggles are really tiny, and not nearly as immersive. Hard to compare FOV. The other commenter is not totally correct, but is close, because the screens on the DJI would have to be super small to give you a similar SCREEN SIZE to the Porqa goggles. The BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM is that by the time you get the Porqa goggles to where they can actually fly analog, you are $569 + $120 - 150 for an analog module most use + about $30 for two antennas = $719 to $749, and you still don't have a battery to run the Porqa goggles! DJI comes with everything you need to fly for $569 ... antennas and a battery. Then just add a Caddx Vista for $139 and up, add that to an existing quad, and you are in the air! :) Such a better value, because for that amount, you also get the very best image quality FPV has ever seen - by a wide margin! Example: I took a 2.5" quad I have that is DJI digital equipped. I flew it in a park 3 minutes from my house. It probably has 100+ oak trees to fly through, around, over, etc. In analog, I simply fly around the tree trunks. Fun as hell, because every single pass can be a different route! DJI digital opened up an entirely new aspect! I can now fly about 20 feet up, through the MIDDLE of the trees canopy! I can see every single tiny little scraggle of ghost branches I never would have even attempted with analog. In fact, there are several "TAKE DOWN" lower hanging scraggle ghost branches that if you don't know where they are, will take you down in an instant with analog - you simply can't see them coming up on you in time! I have crashed so many times I can't count on these several ghost branches that come down to about 6 - 7 feet from the ground. With digital, these stand out like a soar thumb, and I can see them far ahead of hitting them. In fact, when flying through the 20' up canopy of small branches, I can see the smallest of the tiny scraggle - the 1/8" thick scraggle, and fly right between them, slowly maneuvering right through a tiny hole about 1' x 1' and out the other side - without crashing or even hitting a single branch! It's exhilarating! Imagine exploring a cave, coming across a passageway that is barely big enough to squeeze through, and making it through to the other side and being amazed you made it! It's Hella Co0ol! =(:^)-

maybe a longshot but has somebody a tip for replacement/improved foam for the aomway commander V1 in europe/Germany?
@KOrnhOliO12 жыл бұрын
I have those, and I just bought the Aomway replacement foam right from Banggood. I don't think the thickest works good for my face, as it holds my face farther from the screen and make it fuzzier. But, the thinnest foam, and the middle foam, work great for me. I have also found my own foam, of a similar thickness, placed the factory foam on top of it, traced it, and cut my own! It worked damn well too! And, I can replace it anytime I want to now. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Joshuah, (Or anyone else for that matter) Do I need to purchase something else to make these goggles work with my analogue VTX? Or do they come analogue ready , with the video receiver and antenna in the box?

You need to buy a receiver module. The goggles come with a cover that is made for the ImmersionRC RapidFire module.

Not really. It's because analog's days are numbered. Manufacturers don't want to spend all of the R & D, manufacturing, and testing money on a product that is on it's way out. You really think analog will survive another 2 years? If it does, there won't be hardly any new products coming out for analog. I really don't think we'll see any, or almost no more analog goggles come to market. Not unless they are really a low price.

@@KOrnhOliO1 alright but let's say for an example I'm super surprised that skyzone hasn't tried to come out with a goggle for hdzero since skyzone was literally killing it against other market price points and competitors. Allthey need is good goggles with built in HD reciever.

@@_Brando_69 Yeah, but just like Blunty said in today's FPV news segment, the DJI goggles latency is highly over blown. Your brain is very powerful!!! Your mind play's tricks on you, making you "think" you feel more latency, because you know there is more there because you know you are flying DJI. I'll bet you $50 that if there were a way to give you a blind test of the latency of DJI goggles vs. the latency of analog, you wouldn't be able to accurately tell the difference. Just look at JB's video with Stingy, a pro pilot, and neither JB nor Stingy could tell the difference in latency between 50hz and 500hz latency.
