It's funny, one of the reasons I do the "guy in a blue business suit" test in most of these videos is because it's kind of a "bland" example. But, I think it's a great showcase of what these models can do as a baseline. Stuff like "Super Sci-fi Adventure with Zombies and Hot Women With Laser Katanas" is great and all-- but, if the model can't handle a guy walking down a street, it probably isn't going to do that Sci-Fi epic very well!

I don't mean to pick on Gen-3 either but MiniMax blows it away in many ways. There's just a lot Gen-3 can't do, where Kling and even Luma still can. In fact I'm actually a little disappointed in Runways long in the works Gen3, especially using their own generator which is pretty terrible much of the time. Luma needs an upgrade though, I swear they were producing slightly better results when they first launched at least in terms of speed, they've taken a small step back with their last update. Pika's update is,..interesting but not up to par, not even close. @@TheoreticallyMedia I watch you all, and they're right. I also understand how much space and time it takes but you're one of the giants in the AI world with many people valuing your opinions and laughing at your funny dad jokes, that's why I'm holding you to a high standard. I'm sure you'll expand on it in due time. Maybe hiring people and investing in it some more eventually. I will support you either way though 💪

Why 'oddly' 25fps? That is the PAL FPS that is used on most of the word. 24fps is kinda odd as its not actually even film fps, but used probably as its multiple of 8.
@TheoreticallyMedia23 сағат бұрын
No, you’re right- it’s my NTSC brain that is always thinking in 29.97, which is actually the oddball one. I guess since they’re China based, PAL makes sense.

How do you save a face or character and keep a consistent look from one clip to the next? Is anyone putting together short films with this?

You definitely lose some sharpness in minimax but it's motion repertoire is much higher

The only problem I have with Ai video is how short it is. It's very hard to make a youtube video using just Ai
@TheoreticallyMedia20 сағат бұрын
It does take a lot of material, and a lot of creative editing. Plus, a bunch of tricks like slowing down the footage... But-- making physical production or animated videos is also a lot of work!

Really helpful and easy, but can you show me how to drag the picture? I tried but I couldn't do it.

It's come a long way since Will Smith ate spagetti. How long before Hollywood can use it in movie productions? My guess it 2 years.

That's a fair timeframe. I think we'll see it in indie films sooner!

In gen 3 you've to literally request not to change image style in the pixar like imgs. Sadly, the outcome many times is expression lacking faces.

Black Forest Labs coming in with AI video pretty soon. Your time is near! (To be fair as well, a lot of these AI video companies are not very big either. I think Minimax is around 7 people. Granted, the “big guns” are starting to muscle into the space; re: Meta. So, I get that part as well. I’m actually not overly thrilled about that either.)

@@TheoreticallyMedia It's backed by Alibaba group for over $600 million along with 8 other large Chinese corporations and Venture Capitals. So no, it's not small time. And it actually shows that MiniMax AI currently has around 100 employees.

In your opinion, what is better in the AI film industry, writing a script by myself or asking ChatGPT to write it for me?
@virgilxavier120 сағат бұрын
There may continue to be minor imperfections but I'm hoping we will reach the point where just like CGI the average viewer goes "well duh it's AI I'm still entertained". I feel a lot of the anxiety now ceners around an anti AI social media glhare mob that will attack something that is actually perfect just because they know that it has to be AI because anything else would have required way too much work
@TheoreticallyMedia19 сағат бұрын
Totally agree. Actually, a big push I'm making is to stop calling them AI Films. Just call them Films...movies, shows, whatever. No one ever says "hey, did you see the new CGI Animated Film from Pixar?" I'm probably too early on that, but-- I mean, someone has to start. As far as the anxiety and fear go-- I'm totally sympathetic to it. That said, I don't see jobs going anywhere. There will still be the studio heads at the top that get paid their stupidly high salaries, and a bunch of creatives making far less doing the work. AI might make that work a little easier, and that's a good thing. Ultimately, the problems in creative fields (ahem, Hollywood) is far more complex and rooted in outdated systems that AI isn't actually the cause of. But, that's a whole other topic... As far as the mob mentality-- eh, whatever. The mob is just as likely to complain about AI as they are the CGI in the latest Marvel movie. Mobs are gonna mob.
