You cal also use Powerpoint as a whiteboard but you need a graphic tablet or windows machine with touch (and a pen)

Thank you for your video. I would like to make KZbin videos where I record the screen and I can handwrite and do free drawing on a whiteboard for explanations and tutorials. Which is the best whiteboard for that in your opinion? Which software is the best option to record the screen while using said whiteboard and show the webcam on a corner of the screen? Also, which tablet/pen would be the best one for this whole task? Sorry if is too much. I believe all those parts would be needed to make just one KZbin video, lol. Crazy...... I absolutely adore the whiteboardfox for its simplicity and friendliness; however, it's been a month or so that i experience a whiteboard disconnection. it just shuts down on me, shows the server error or whatever it says there. So i can neither proceed with work nor safe what's already done. Anyone else has same troubles?

I miss individual whiteboards more than anything in this virtual world. In my adult ESL class I used them for short answer and spelling and could get a response from all the students. They could not see each others responses so they participated. I tried to use Chat and get them to delay pressing enter until I said so. They never got the idea. If even one person shared the rest stopped participating. For cheap quick annotation last year I used Web Paint Chrome extension and for a whiteboard I used Microsoft Paint. I knew how to use them and they are free and very simple.

So your best bet is to share your jamboard with your class ahead of time and give each kid their own page. Then when you screencast your lesson and it's time to do examples, they can work on their board and you'll have a log of everything they do. It takes a bit of practice, but eventually it will become second nature for you and them.

Also, none of these programs require any sort of mega PC computing power. They should function just fine with any computer. Good luck!

My country started a learning channel in the 2000s and for years when i was in school i tried to figure out what their software was called. I figured it out and just as quickly i had forgot 😔 but this is very helpful and certainly beats having a single camera suspended over a small writing slate.

Sorry about the delayed response - anytime a URL gets posted in the comments it triggers the spam filters! I do like that option - there's a bit of a learning curve with getting students to understand and use it in the way that it's intended, but it's a perfectly viable option. I'd make a separate video on it if there was a way to show it working in progress!

I was on a colleague's zoom where she had 'pushed' out a personal whiteboard to the students, but many of the students were not able to write on it for some reason.

If you're in Google Drive, just click on new in the top left corner and then choose Jamboard. You can also just type in the web address jamboard.google.com and it'll take you straight there.

The download is 70MB, so as long as you have the disc space it should work just fine. If you're using a district Chromebook you might have to get permission first, and then have an IT person to do the install for you. Hope this helps! 🙌💯😎
