The BEST Gels for Natural Hair | Clean, Effective Gels and How to Use Them PROPERLY

I use double gels, only way I could get 7 day wash n go. Check out Terra Veda Organix Curl Slayer gel as a base/botanical gel and top with Ecoslay Jello-O Shot in high humidity or dew points or Ecoslay Orange Marmalade in lower humidity/dew points. The base gel really helps to hold moisture in my hair before I apply the topper gel. I do this on soaking wet hair on sections in the shower. I hood dry for about 30-40 minutes and then diffuse for another 15-20 min. These gels also do not contain glycerin or oils in the top 5 ingredients. Best combo for wash n goes all year round I've tried in the 14 years of being natural.

Thank you! I’m new to wash n go’s but I’ve been natural most of my life. Do you have any tips for flaking or the hard cast when they gel dries?

@4letters52 I don't have any issues with flaking. Just have to try not to use a lot of product and apply in sections in the shower on soaking wet hair.Terra Veda Organix gel is aloe vera based and my hair really loves. It's much better base gel to me than UFDCM (Uncle Funky Daughter Curl Magic). I also have great results topping I Create Hold gel from Innersense on top of Terra Veda Organix curl slayer gel. I do finger coil each section when I apply the topper gel, it really helps to get longer lasting, defined curls.

How do you identify humectant vs anti humectant gel? I thought I create gold was botanical?

ouuuu great question! I create hold is definitely a botanical gel. That doesn't really tell the kind of hold it has though. That just means it is formulated using plants. Humectant gels will have humectants (ingredients that draw in water) suc h as aloe vera, marshmallow root, slippery elm... think slimy ingredients. Anti-humectant gels have water-repelling ingredients in them.

How to remove gel that has hardened your hair, and matted the crown of your hair. The gel is in the shape of a bun that I circled with my fingers. I have very soft curly hair that night Matt easy to create. I need to get it out immediately.

What if you live in a desert 🏜 environment and you want to do a wash and go? No humidity in the air, temperatures that reach 111 degrees and a high UV context.

I would still double gel if I were you. That first humectant gel is going to help with hydration and that second gel is going to keep the moisture IN. Humectants are always going to transfer hydration from the most hydrated place to the least hydrated place, so if your hair is more hydrated than the dry environment then the humectant will suck the moisture from your hair and put it in the atmosphere faster.

I live in Florida with high humidity, and I always wear my hair natural. Are used Dan year gel spray and did not wash my hair for three weeks due to an illness. My hair has matted and is extremely hard in the ponytail crown area. How do I remove and melt this job so that I can put a brush or comb through it to wear it washing girl. Please help I’m desperate.
