Make sure you get the "Sith Lords Restored" fan content patch! (If you buy on Steam, it's in the Workshop.) KOTOR2 was rushed out due to an impossibly tight deadline, with a ton of content disabled because Obsidian didn't have time to finish it. The Restoration patch turns KOTOR2 into the game it was always supposed to be, plus it fixes tons of bugs. There's genuinely NO reason to play vanilla.

Visas was the best romance in KotOR 2, her story of having her planet eaten by the Sith who made her his apprentice and gave her his nihilistic vision, but she found herself again with the Exile? For a male character, the game threw out a few options, some romance options, some not. 1: A street-savvy bounty hunter, dangerous, sharp, sexy. Those binders aren't just for professional purposes ... 2: The Echani. Warrior woman, who likes to roughhouse with you in her underwear. She wants to get to know you by physical interaction, and she probably does yoga ... 3: Visas. She has no eyes, just creepy blank sockets, and her history is one of pain and abuse. She wants to kill you, and wears the least revealing clothing in the game. Players: Oh, number 3 is top waifu material. 100%.

I always preferred Handmaiden for a number of reasons. First, I just find her more attractive than Visas, but that's just a personal preference thing. Second, the Jedi class she can take is Jedi Guardian, which is more combat oriented than Visas' Jedi Sentinel, and that suits my playstyle a lot better. I'll usually keep my party as the player character, Handmaiden, and Kreia (for the Mentor feat XP bonus), and substitute in Mira when necessary, as she's my second favorite.

I remember as a kid, Visas was definitely a waifu of mine but I kinda grew away from that memory because I didn't stay consistent with this game till much later in life. But when I look at a lot of my other top picks I had up till now in life, I really do choose a lot of the "tragic, kill you, and/or serve you" characters. From Elfen Lied, I loved Lucy, from Fate, I loved Sakura, Dark Souls, the firekeeper, so on and so forth. Then I come back to replay Kotor 2 and then remembered Visas was a big diving board into that. It doesn't help that I basically had no age restrictions on anything, and Elfen Lied was my first anime which made me solidified on my preferences.
