There were actually a lot of states in 1926 - the 13 stars are the original American Colonies

Most Americans did not have 100 bucks ($2395 today) in the Depression year of 1933. The majority of the gold was surrendered by the Fed, large commercial banks and wealthy individuals. The Fed was given a receipt for their gold which is still listed on their balance sheet. On the US Treasury side, they value the gold on their books at 42 dollars and change, meanwhile the market price is 2600! Interesting times we live in. Regarding coins, I have one $10 piece graded AU58 by PCGS, bought it at a Heritage auction for the gold content at $410 in 2004 and still have it.

Great video. Recently purchased as a MS 64- but was a 63. Kept it anyway.💕

An MS64 grade is a perfect buy really. Considering that an ms65 will cost you double.

MS 64 probably not owned by too many people . Mint State 64 would require someone taking it out of circulation and putting in a private collection
