What a wonderful refresher on Positive Impact Golf. I'll save this for sure as a reminder how Brian Sparks and you, Julian, helped me improve my game, allowing me to enjoy golf more and not take myself so seriously. "It's still a nice day." Forever grateful. Best wishes to you and prayers for Brian Sparks. Praying whatever his outcome, he can rest in the thought he touched so many people in a beautifully positive way.

An excellent ,very valuable video. It is an early guide that can also be used to check your club position when your feet are set up for a draw shot. I use the draw position for most of my drives & was NOT sure whether I was doing the start of the backswing correctly. This early check highlights the correct position for a draw. When the club is in the horizontal position with a draw shot it was NOT easy to check I was doing it correctly. Julian should do the paint advertisement that claims the paint does what it says on the tin. Might be a useful earner for Julian !!

Julian! My backswing is basically how you are demonstrating with one exception. I don't have the "checkpoint" at the right foot to assure me that I am on plane. I also like the checkpoint at hip-level where the butt end of the shaft is pointed down the fairway. In the future, I will utilizing both to keep my shots more center cut!

Hi Julian Tnx very much for your tuition Please would you advise me as to how should I initiate the backswing is it the hands or what Sorry to trouble you best wishes Arnie from South Africa
@JulianMellor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Arnie, I like to think that my motor is already running which means I don’t like to start the swing from a static set up. I prefer the body to start turning first which moves the arms and club into position. Hope this helps a little. Regards Julian

Signed up for proper golf for 1 month to see if I agree with the easy swing. Also reviewed the vertical line swing with USGolf. Similar swings although usgolf says weight 60% on the left side. Seems like some conflicts on the takeaway which I think is the most important part of the swing. The downswing and follow through happens in milliseconds. Getting on plane is paramount for a good swing. I intend on signing up for proper golf after our winter months are over and I figure out how to video tape my swing.

Hi Julian. Do the wrists become involved to get the shaft parallel after the 45 degree point? Or is it still purely just rotation? Many thanks
@JulianMellor Жыл бұрын
Ideally we are trying to turn the club away with the body until about hip height where the wrists then start to get involved. This gives you a natural wide swing without stretching, it’s also give you the sensation of more time which is. Really nice feeling, Chris
@steveperry13443 жыл бұрын
i get the club and the swing plane too much inside and behind me which i would say moves the low point more behind the ball and i have to turn hard to get it correct coming down. i'm gonna try this instead, thnx.

I am confused with your suggestion to have the shaft pointing straight down the target line at hip height when we know that the swing is an arc around the body and there isn’t a straight line in an arc. This “JT” move of his would produce a backswing in a more upright position and off the arc wouldn’t it? Doesn’t a backswing that is too upright or too flat cause issues such as fade or draw or worse slice or hook? Can you un- confuse me?
@JulianMellor3 жыл бұрын
It’s simply a point in the backswing that if we took a still picture it would appear that the club is pointing parallel to the ball to target line
@richardc69323 жыл бұрын
@@JulianMellor thanks for the explanation Julian. After watching this video again, I can clearly see the point you are making.
