Did I miss the "Best Guard in Action"? *FYI - This channel solely focused on the first guard on the left for about 35 minutes, as he let everyone in the box, and right next to the horse! It seems that more channels and channel content creators, are focusing mostly on the "guards" that don't protect their horses.* The second guard on the left did a bit better. I think he successfully told one person to get out of the box. / 27:29 - I can never unsee that!! 🙈

No, they aren't. A regular viewr emailed the MoD to clarify the position. The reply she received indicated that there had been long-standing instructions to all Troopers that they should try to prevent people from getting too close to their horses. The Department acknowledged that some Troopers don't like to yell at people, so the original sign was altered from "don't touch the reins" to "don't touch the horse." The circular graphic sign was added to circumvent people using lack of English language to be excused from obeying the instruction. Now the white lines have been added, the Guards who are not attempting to move people out of the box are wilfully disobeying directions. They need to be ORDERED in no uncertain terms to protect their and their horse's space.

​@@BevWalther • The armed officers are MoD Police whose job is to protect the buildings, courtyard and public from security threats and possible terrorist activities. Their job doesn't include protecting the soldiers, although they are involved with crowd control. One problem is that the MoD would have to take on more officers to guard the horse boxes permanently. While the police officers often look as though they're just standing idly around, believe me, they're not. Their eyes are everywhere, and they're in constant touch with their HQ via their ear-pieces. Hopefully the white lines will do the job completely before too long. I'm actually surprised how well the vast majority of tourists have adapted to them. 😊
