For the Rebecca Bross “save”. It was planned. She had a severely sprained ankle but they still needed her score so she did everything but the dismount and they planned to have her over rotate and the coach catch her so she wouldn’t injure the ankle further.

And even though some of these may not look like they did much, sometimes even a slight bit of reduction in momentum/speed or changing what part hits the ground can not only significantly change the level of injuries, but save lives. And not all save attempts are successful, because some just aren't possible, even with the most perfect person doing them. It is still massive respect to spotters that do their job as well as possible.

RANDOM FACT BUT ALSO NOT RANDOM FACT: the guy in the 2nd video actually made a short explaining that it was not the spotters fault because when the original video was posted people thought at the end the spotter was yelling at him when she hot the mat, but he said she wasn’t yelling she was just in shock and all she was saying was saying to him was “are you ok?” because she really felt bad about it and the guy was telling everyone it was not her fault. ALSO, ITS NEVER THE SPOTTERS FAULT! I don’t mean this to hate on anyone who may think this but really, the spotter has to make a decision based off like 2 seconds, so please don’t be mad at the spotters because as you can see, they helped save a lot of people, not only at the training gym, but also people at every competition/ gymnastics event.
