Never tried this one, but I love the OGX Argan Extra Penetrating Oil. It makes my hair so soft and has slip to it. They used to make a Macadamia oil that I loved a while back, but it's discontinued unfortunately.

That twist out was still so juicy on wash day. I apply Jamaican Black Castor Oil only to my freshly washed scalp. If I go a little longer than usual for wash day I prepoo with the African Pride Aloe and Coconut Water prepoo or olive oil. I always use a leave in and a cream with hold as styler after deep conditioning my hair with heat. My leave in and cream products all contain oils in the first 5 ingredients and may also contain silicone. I use a sulfate shampoo every two weeks. This has been my regimen since big chopping from relaxed hair to a TWA March 2019. I also trim/cut my hair every three to four months. I have mid back length hair at this point and for context, I am 5ft 7ins in height. My regimen has worked well for my hair and I don't have splits and have very few single strand knots at any given time. Rosie, continue to do what works for your hair. I am so excited for your new journey.

You have such a beautiful consistent routine. You are also very smart. I find that the Shampoo part of wash day is tricky, I am still working on perfecting this area. Thank you for your detailed comment , funny enough I had a short cut in August 2019 by choice because I had a new born child and I wanted quick wash days with minimal styling. I had so much fun

According to Cheryl Morrow, treatments work best when applied on dry hair before shampooing, as the hair can't experience the full benefits if water is in the way to dilute the treatment 🤔

Very interesting, who is Cheryl Morrow? So moving forward I am going to be listening to my hair, my hair needs are different. My desired is to use this oil to detangle the hair, and damp hair works for me. Thanks for sharing

I learned about someone new today, she has an amazing legacy. I wonder when she said treatments,what she is referring to? because different products have instructions on how to use their products. There are a lot of voices in the professional arena , and it’s unfortunate that no one is on the same page on how to care for Afro texture hair. After my experience partnering with a stylist and experience severe damage I have a hard time trusting professional outside of the stylist that cares for my hair. I love history so I am definitely going to read up on Dr Morrow.
