I can tell he's had Haitian food before because he knew what to do with the pikliz 😄 (although he could have tried it on the plantain too) Usually foreigners always make the mistake of eating it like it's coleslaw Also the way he knew how to pour the sauce over the rice and what to put together on his fork to maximize flavor. Tostone is spanish for fried plantain though. It's the same thing. Perhaps they press it thinner? Haven't had lambi (conch) in so long. It looked good. The whole table looked good.

@@christinaday7752 I didn't see the Yelp info but it was still open early this week. I passed by there and saw people sitting inside. It could be the Yelp info is dated. I know that they did close for a while when they were looking for a new location. Go by and ENJOY!!!

I can see that you enjoyed the food but you were having some trouble with the piklys (haitIan hot sauce made with hot paper,and other stuffs} will suggest that you try it with the fry plantain. I am glad that you like it.

I am open to suggestions in NYC if you know any. I saw the plantains on the menu as well as a host of other items that looked sooooooo good. When I try another Haitian place I'll def try the plantains on your recommendation. Let me know about other items you think I might enjoy. FYI: I thoroughly enjoyed the piklys!!!

I'm not in Newyork, hopefully they'll reopen, but if not try Google maps to find a other restaurant or restaurants, I'm sure it isn't the only Haitian restaurant in the area. Good Luck! 💛

I try to pick off peak times to visit the places I review. We did this one on a late Sunday afternoon. There were a few folks eating in and a lot of takeout but we were able to talk to the staff freely and also chat with the takeout customers also. It was truly a great experience.
