Thank you 🙏🏻 for this . I just shared it to my story on what’s app so family can see what I’m up to. It’s a blessing to see this video as a Haitian born kid , lol 😂 I’m 27 but u know in the Haitian world adults who are way older than me call me kid those same adults are called gran moun. Some gran moun are nice , some are not , some are petty 😂, some are jealous and sometimes hypocrites as well . I know I got off topic but I’m here to spill my mind and I’m about to cook thanks to Freddie’s amazing video’s. I left Haiti when I was 10 I was never cooking Haitian food and now I am because I see the importance of a great Haitian meal. I just now started cooking and taking my time doing what I do .

I add cilantro and ginger 🫚 to mine too. I also preserve mine with a little rum. I get garlic that I need to peel and comes from Spain, or South America, because most of the pre-peeled and prepackaged garlic comes from China, and they don't practice proper agriculture farming!!

Haitians esp shouldnt judge amother woman cooking style. The lemon juice or sour orange juice isn't fresh either. You would have convinced me if you said sour oranges and lemon. Ijs. Every household make epis a lil different but all are similar. My mother recipe was slightly diff from my gma. My mom mostly made her epis as she cooked anyway with a pilon n that's what I do mainly. But around Holiday season, I make a batch. N I use either sour orange or just apple cider vinegar as a preservative. Sour oranges is great for piklis as well. Lets give her props cuz baby can cook. ❤
