Recently purchased one and had my second head shave today. WOW, what a shaver. Really put it to the test today and shaved after a week off hair growth and it was just stunning. Such a great shave. I did get a bit of a redness on my neck the first time when I started the shave at the top and moved back but this time I started at the back with less pressure and it was so, so much better. No itch or burn. Perfect Shave. And only took about 5 minutes. (never used the turbo at all) 😊👍🏻👍🏻💯

I've literally just bought mine right now. Comes tomorrow. Wet shaving with the leaf razor blades is too slick and I like a bit of growth on me. Looking into SMP and I've heard this product is meant to be great for it. Glad you like it, was torn on getting this or a pitbull skull shaver.

For anyone interested in the Remington RX5: I bought one 2 years ago and after 1 year its battery died, it was still in warranty and it was replaced with a new on. Same thing happened to the second one, after using it for 1 year its battery died, but it was still in warranty and it was replaced, this happened just a few days ago. Now I have may third one in 2 years, I`ve used this brand new one 2-3 times and the battery already appears to be dying. I had to charge it 2 times already in 5 days, which I don`t think is normal. The shaver itself is ok, you won`t get as smooth a shave as with a razor, but it`s close enough and you don`t risk cutting yourself while shaving. Where I live it`s around $300, which I think is pretty expensive, but that`s relative to the individual. All in all I`d recommend it, but not as your main shaving device, because its battery will die on you when you`re in the middle of shaving.

15 years ago or so I tried shaving my head with my regular Philishave-something that I used for my face. It was a really poor decision since I was left badly scratched all over my scalp and I've only used razors since then. Some weeks ago I stumbled across reviews of a bunch of head shavers and thought that perhaps tech had evolved since the early 2000's so I finally decided on trying the RX7. I've tried mine twice now, once with soap and once with shaving cream. The first experience with soap only was excruciating with a sore and scratched scalp, neck and throat. I was pretty sure I'd never try it again but today I gave it a try with shaving cream instead. My scalp did ok-ish this time around, though I had to run it around for quite some time to even do a half decent job of removing the three day stubble. My neck though is once again badly scratched and sore like after a horrible sunburn. I'm going back to the Gillette razors again. Time, result and pain weighed together made this the single worst shaving experience I've ever had (or at least on par with the Philishave one 15 years ago).

I respect the work You've done towards balding/bald community, making really nice heartwarming content. But I would like to address the issue with these remington products: It is the replaceable head, that you cannot disassemble and maintain in the manner you could do with other remington rotary shavers. This is the only reason I've decided to return mine and buy a regular 3d shaver. This is all very disappointing taking into consideration that the replacement head costs 2/3 or half the price of the new shaver. So planned obsolescence, and electrical waste is the main point I am trying to put across here, I don't imagine heads being available after ten years... So I would vouch for skull shaver, with replacement aftermarket blades readily available, and a construction allowing for the removal of the knives. I must admit I haven't used these products, for shaving, I just tried to disassemble the blade head in RX5 and decided it's crap, and sent it back. Pitbull Skul shaver seems unreasonably expensive on the other hand. I'll shave with a regular razor, its just the moles on my head that make this experience not so pleasant.

Interesting product, I’ll be keen to see how this performs long term as I had 3 RX5 all pack up after 3 months, where the motor stopped spinning the blades. So there was clearly an issue with the machines. If this works it will be a game changer otherwise I’ll be sticking to the £30 replicas.

I had the exact same issue with two of em. One of the blades would not rotate well anymore and stopped the motor from moving. Oiling it all did not help. I had to completely remove the faulty blade from the head to keep using them a little longer. Extremely poor quality, even if it worked well for a time. The pitbull isn't as effective but at least it has not broken in over a year.

I found the Remington RX7 less comfortable to use. I prefer the extra width and the padded grip on the sides of the RX5 which makes it easier to hold and a joy to use. With the RX7 it's narrower and more plastic around the sides rather then that grip you need. Without using the turbo speed I found the RX5 got the job done quicker as it was much easier to hold and glide across the scalp. I also don't like the short USB cable.

Any advice on whether you can use these kinds of skull shavers using a small amount of hair conditioner (instead of shaving cream/foams) ? I’ve seen advice elsewhere on using hair conditioner to lubricate razor shaving and it’s better than shaving foams. Can you use conditioner with something like this RX7 do you think? Or does it have to be dry shaving only?

Can the blades be replaced on this?

After watching this video so I decided to not buy this Remington RX7, I don't like to get skin rashes plus it seems the quality is not good either after reading some reviews here. I have been using last 5 years Philips Series 9000 and it still working perfectly the downside is it only cuts 0,5 mm otherwise the quality is superior other brands.

i have brought the rx5 few days ago. washing the blades under water, after having detached them, and reattaching them after having dried them a bit with absorbent paper, if I try to turn on the razor it goes into safety lockout. Does anyone know why?

Similar problem. I just unpacked it and it won't even turn on with the head attached, goes directly into safety mode.

@@Ilya.94 Get the Remington, 3 years warranty, Pitbull only has 1 and you need to pay £30 for another year, better design on the blade heads which are also half the price, lasts longer and wont break, and alot dam cheaper, its a no brainer dude, they even cover the blades for 6 months

The best? Braun series 9 cuts to 0.05mm, Remington RX7 cuts to 0.2mm. Surely Braun (or maybe Panasonic Arc) is better?!
@VeBe28

Have you used the Braun series 9 Pro+. How much time does it take to shave the head fully? Heard it is slower and takes a long time? Is it better than the Panasonic Arc. Is the Remington Rx7 okay for sensitive skin/scalp?

Don't waste your time and money, it's just another electric shaver : - loud - ineffective - will damage your skin more than any good razor (since you'll have to rub your head for 20min) - barely smooth result with lot of very thin hair remaining - then pay expensive replacement blades every few months

I agree with you. That’s why I still didn’t allow myself to spend a hundred euros on these electric razors. However, I’m hoping that they would allow me to shave my head more often. If a blade I have to wait 3-4 days before I can shave again without irritation.

Shut up Joffrey6831. I've used a wet/dry electric razor and it was not loud and I did not cut extremely bad but it led a rash and it does not leave thin hair behind!! Shut your trap!!!

It scratches, heats itself up, and shaves very poorly. 48 hours after I shaver my head with a razor blade I needed a good 30 minutes of scratching my head to get it over with, or rather not entirely over it, because the effect leaves a lot to be desired. During this time, the battery is used up to half. If You expect to quickly shave hair that are still growing, get ready to be disappointed. This shaver is only suitable for people with thin/thinning hair or for severely bald people.

Man that reminds me of the pitbull shaver. They are not powerfull units. Foil shaver is cheaper and does a way better job. I have used everyone of these stupid over priced shavers. Babyliss pro fx3 is awesome. Fast, powerfull, and actually feels like a razor shave. I feel the people pushing pitbull are all sponsored ads or they have not tried anything else. These are decent but won’t out do a foil shaver.
