Beautiful checking on that body, as for the pickups, they seem to have found a great recipe for making them, excellent indeed. The Shell Pink color doesn't always look so nice, again, your Luke guitar is beautiful. I have a Stratocater Body in Sonic Blue that is similarly aged and checked. With the Sonic Blue, the aged clear top-coat has aged turning the guitar to a light surf green color, except in the areas when my play wear has rubbed off the clear coat, those areas fad to the original sonic blue, its really very stunning.

@@EmanuelHedberg Yes, Sonic Blue and Surf Green are big favorites of mine, I couldn't decide one or the other so the Luthier who painted my guitar body suggested the relic and fade between the Sonic Blue and Surf Green. Much like your Shell Pink the relic checking is beautiful.

When the bolt-on neck guitar maker also makes his bodies and necks (doesn't just buy them elsewhere like Nash etc.) AND winds his own pickups, then he is a "luthier"! The crazing in the nitrocellulose lacquer isn't just for looks, it allows the wood to "breathe" for real improving vibration and tone. Your playing combined with that guitar is a treat, looking forward to hearing more!
@EmanuelHedberg
@EmanuelHedberg 4 ай бұрын
Thank you thank you! Yeah, Luke is super talented and he makes everything by himself. No partscasters what so ever! Everything is built by him. So cool! He is also amazing at doing NOS guitars (non relic).
@GCKelloch
@GCKelloch 4 ай бұрын
The checking is awesome, but the difference a thin finish makes compared to how a thick piece of wood like that damps string vibrations is insignificant. Pickup winding and guitar electronics is also not part of Luthiery skill. The pickups sound like any number of CNC-wound Strat pickups with the same pole magnet types that sell for under $100 a set. Don't believe the hype.

Hey I have a question maybe you or one of you subs could answer, I have 5 MIJ Stratocasters from mid 2000’s and I’ve noticed on the rosewood fret boards they used a white very nice wax on the fret board that makes it slippery and in my opinion better to play on, even after all these years I can still see the white wax on some of the pores of the rosewood and it is still a perfect amount of slipperiness that makes playing so much better .. do you know what they use for this type of wax ? Ive noticed that my USA fender Stratocasters don’t have this wax that is put on the fretboard at the factory in Japan - has anyone ever heard of this or know what type of wax it is ? I’ve racked my brain trying to figure this out I want to buy some for my other guitars - i thought about shuffle board wax, ski wax, surfboard wax, car wax, or maybe there really is a special fretboard wax out there somewhere that a person can buy . I’m pretty sure it’s not a liquid wax more like a hard tube wax. Hopefully you guys can help me please 🙏🏻 Parker Shultz

Because it mimics a vintage guitar that is well loved and well played and worn in, but at a price point that is accessible to players vs finding a true vintage guitar that has an exorbitant price tag upwards of $25,000.
