This video really highlights one of my absolute FAVORITE aspects of the AC franchise, and that's the gorgeous locations. I absolutely LIVE seeing all these old monuments during those times. Every place we go is so beautiful, and it's not just the locals, but also the peoples and their culture. Mirage did such an amazing job of portraying the culture.

Growing up I was always extremely interested in ancient Egypt, when origins was coming out I was so excited I honestly can’t explain the feeling, and when I figured out I could actually go inside the pyramids I lost my mind, absolutely incredible to experience even today almost 7 years later

I just finished Origins a few months ago and almost couldn't let it go. I was also always a big fan of ancient Egypt and the world they made in this game was so captivating and interesting to me. plus the story and the main protagonist are one of the best in the series imo. hope you played the visual tour as well :)

One thing you didn't mention about Notre Dame: after it was heavily damaged by a fire in the late 2010s, Ubisoft actually aided in the reconstruction efforts. The 3D model they had constructed for Unity was so accurate to the original that they were able to use it as a guide to ensure the reconstruction stayed true to how it's supposed to look. So Unity's portrayal of Notre Dame actually helped save the real life Notre Dame.

No it did not, it is a common misconception. For a construction as important as the notre dame they would probably have its sketch and blueprints stashed so that in case of let's say a fire they won't need a ubisoft adaptation to rebuild it. A ubisoft adaptation that was literally designed with parkour in mind and had to avoid copyright laws
@cctrappy
@cctrappy 7 ай бұрын
@@drknockboot Ubisoft actually did, just research it “The company [Ubisoft] announced Wednesday it is making a contribution of 500,000 Euros to the rebuilding of the cathedral. And the Paris-headquartered game maker said Wednesday it will make its virtual rendition of the cathedral available to those involved in the rebuilding of the church.” - USA Today I’m not sure how much the digital model was used to aid the rebuilding, but it actually was used

Your list was good. Ones I would have included would be The Dome of the Rock, The Lighthouse of Alexandria and Hadrian's Wall. The Dome of the Rock was the main landmark I was aware of when I played AC1 and it was cool to find it. The Lighthouse of Alexandria was just amazing to scale. It blew my mind Hadrian's wall was just cool to me. I found it and ran down it for a while.

I think The House of Wisdom, and the Round City as a whole, in Mirage is fantastic, especially since these are lost places that no longer exist, and have not existed for so long, so it's impressive how that managed to recreate them The game captures old islamic arabian culture so beautifully, in a setting only popularly known to most people in Disney's Aladdin

What you brought to my attention is the further back in time you kept going in the AC games the harder it was for you to gives us information that Ubisoft could get simply because the further down the timeline you went the more of how much lost history was left behind even the evidence of things were reduced to rubble or demolished or burn down , stolen, pillaged and erased. Example, Origins, Odyssey, Mirage, Black Flag. Truly sad anyone else noticed?

Fun fact: the secret chamber in the pyramids was part of a theory posed by the egyptologist that Ubisoft hired to help them design their Pyramids of Giza. This archeologist is a firm believer of an alternative theory of how the pyramids were built. Most scolars believe that external sand ramps were build arpund the pyramid whike this was being built, and when the pyramid was completed then it was buried in an arificail mound of sand, and then they had to dig out the pyramid. This guy supported the alternative theory that the ramps were not external but internal to the pyramid and the pyramid was built around the ramps. The advantage is that the ramps were hidden by the walls of the pyramid, thus creating inaccesible chambers and passage ways in the finished Pyramid. Ubisoft did what they did and made it possible to access this system because gmaeplay wise is more interesting in-game thus "predicting" the discovery of the hidden chamber. Ubisoft did a very good job of explaining this in the information they provided with the game and then later in the historical tour in-game, where you toured this ramps while they were very clear that no theory has proven to be the correct one.

Cant belive how you just skipped many interesting landmarks in AC Black Flag… Mayan ruins in Tulum and Misteriosa and the Havana!!
@CoNSu_11
@CoNSu_11 13 күн бұрын
Nah. I'm from Mexico Southeast, and in the game, the mayan ruins seem pretty generic. Furthermore, I already visited Chichen Itzá and I can not recognize a thing from AC Liberations. I'm still sad they didn't choose Edzna from Campeche instead of Tulum. Edzna has a very unique and recognizable mayan building, and Campeche City has walls, gates, and forts precisely by piracy age. I was really excited with the game because my city was a Pirates refuge, and I let my hopes up expecting to have an appearance. But let me tell you, I got dejavu with Habana's Church. It looks a lot like our Church of Virgin of Carmen (our main temple because we won war against pirates on July 16). Our original houses (in our "historic center") are the same architecture as the ones depicted in Habana. Habana feeled like being in the old core of my city.

I took French for a couple years back in highschool, n learned a bunch about France and its history. Unity was such a great game for me, despite its numerous bugs. My birthday is July 15th, the day after the date of the storming of the Bastille, which is pretty cool to me. After learning so much about France and the Bastille, my favorite part of Unity was taking part in the battle at the Bastille. Edit: the fact you didn't say Bastille makes me sad. But who tf is gunna say Bastille unless you have knowledge about it and it's importance right? Not surprised you didn't add it, but still a lil bummer.

as someone who has played Black Flag 3 times, I would have to say that the most memorable historical landmark would be The Queen's Staircase in Nassau(you will encounter this landmark in the story progression). It's just so beautiful, you just have to be there to understand. For Rogue, the most impressive thing you can see is the Northern Light(not a landmark, I know). For Unity, they have a lot of landmarks, so I will recommend my two favorites. Les Champs du Mars and Jardin du Luxembourg. Syndicate really excelled at doing these landmarks(even better than Unity, which people didn't talk about). I loved the Big Ben and the train stations.

Solid lists but you did have some errors I think. For Origins, it should of been the Lighthouse and not Sphinx, especially since it's a Lost Wonder of the World and seeing what it would of looked like was breathtaking. 2nd you forgot Liberation & Freedom Cry . It's a shame so many content creators for AC ignore these games. I understand sometimes because the games aren't long enough or are "DLC" but they shouldn't be overlook. For Liberation you really only had 3 options...Congo Square, St. Louis Cathedral or Chichen Itza. And to be fair, i can't make any of the top of my head for Freedom Cry but there prob are some but it's been a while since i played it.
