LEGO Harry Potter's March 2024 wave has gotten me excited about the theme again. The reboot of the Hogwarts Castle system is a driving factor as to why, but to get so little value for it's price, is it worth hopping behind a whole new layout AGAIN?

I'm annoyed they've made another system but this has potential. Fortunately I haven't really opened any of the green roof sets so I'm thinking of either selling them sealed or opening them and using the pieces for MOCs to go with the new system if it looks good.

seeing it in person (so to speak) it really is just a handful of pieces. a small section of the stairs leading up to the Great Hall would have added a lot more, visually and playability wise. I enjoyed the previous system so I'll probalby moc the new sets to fit into the older system

One of the things I wasn't keen on with the triwizard set is the number of larger pieces. While that could help with the cost somewhat, it is quite limiting in terms of reuse, customizability, etc. With these sets, using more of the standard pieces makes it easier to integrate into custom builds, extend, and MOC. For example, if you wanted to expand out the lake and attach the boathouse to that.

Although I've been a massive WW fan almost since the beginning of the franchise, for the LEGO licensed theme, I've been a discerning customer, only going for sets that justify long-term keeping, such as the 2 Hedwigs, Hogwarts Castle & Grounds, and Hogwarts Trunk. Also that strike my fancy are the sets that either are or represent the boundaries between the Mundane and Wizarding Worlds [1]. As such, I'm very much looking forward to this set! *Footnote* [1] I have the Robotime Rolife #TGB03 Magic House and #TGB04 Time Travel Book Nooks. Although they aren't WW-liscensed products, anyone with eyes can see they're heavily based off of Diagon Alley and Platform 9¾, respectively.

You would never see the 1st years arrive at the boat house...because they do NOT disembark at the boat house at all. First years go through the lake into a cave bellow Hogwarts. As for the set...meh. It's OK. The grey roofs look horrible and the proportions of the wood campanile looks way off. And the set is definitely overpriced. This just confirms my opinion that this March wave of Harry Potter is extremely weak. And don't even get me started on the bloody return of the gambling-promotion...

I agree 100% with you. While beautiful and more or less accurate, it's simply way overpriced. Maybe I will buy it at a major discount, to display it besides my Great Hall, but not for 40€.

The boathouse looks nothing at all like it does in the movies, it's way underscaled, there's zero room in it and the minifigure collection is bland at best Most disappointing (to possibly racist) is the reuse of Lee Jordan's face for Dean Thomas Overall a pretty weak and definitely disappointing set in my eyes
