I always made spritz cookies (and many other kinds) every year with my mom. She would start the day after Thanksgiving and bt Christmas, she had dozens of different cookies that she gave to everyone! I can't wait to make these almond spritz. Thanks for the recipe & for bringing back such good memories.. y the way, mom is 96 and has finally retired from cookie baking marathons.

I have to thank Melissa Clark for reminding me that I do have a cookie press stored away and forgotten into some drawer. I think it’s time to dust it off! Jeez, it’s been ages since I last made spritz cookies.

OMG this was the cookie you would just eat around the clock in December, always out on a plate, my mom would make hundreds of them for parties. I make them vegan now, I think they taste great with vegan butter, I will try the almond version though.

@bertvandepoel9 күн бұрын
Do you chill it before placing it in the gun or before it goes into the oven?

I use parchment and it works just fine. The dough will stick to it enough.

Can’t live without spritz cookies during the holidays - but I will say this experience leaves me with a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. It should be stated at the outset that one must subscribe to (and pay for) a subscription to NYT Cooking. Melissa’s chipper delivery is amusing, but the recipe was what I was after.

When I was 13, I found the recipe for spritz cookies (with pictures!) in my mom's cookbook and nagged her until she bought me a cheap cookie press. Boy, did I go to town! It actually ended up being a worthwhile purchase and I have owned several cookie presses since. The one you are using is probably my favorite. I don't recommend a crank style...

Sorry, this video gets a thumbs down for me. Why? These are not "holiday" cookies! Their Christmas cookies! Language is important. Don't try to Snuff out Christmas. If you don't celebrate Christmas, that's your prerogative. But I and millions upon millions of others do in the United States. Their CHRISTMAS cookies!
@amaz212 жыл бұрын
I’m confused… I also believe language is important, but don’t understand your word choice. Do you mean “they’re Christmas cookies” or are you referencing those possessing these cookies? I just made these cookies, but for a birthday (for someone other than Jesus). Are they still Christmas cookies or am I allowed to call them holiday cookies?
