When you showed the correction curves on the screen, I noticed that your original room curve was very similar to what mine was like. After engaging the correction, it was an INSANE improvement!

I have switched to the iLoud Precision 6 studio monitors over six months ago and, in my small and untreated place, the ARC technology really made it world of difference. Astounding is the word. Good that ARC is now part of the updated iLoud MTM, which seems to me to be a great value for what it does. Enjoy yours!

Good review, thank you. Very interesting concept. Unfortunate that the remote control does not work with this model (only with the larger "precision" ones).

I own a pair of iLoud MTM (previous version) And indeed, I love the size, the look and how they perform. However, the high pitched hiss noise issue these monitors are kinda renowned for, has hardly been fixed. I hope the Mark 2 has that problem solved.
@TheGaragebandGuide4 ай бұрын
I certainly never came across anything like that. What happens exactly?

I have the originals, too (also love them). I've not experienced any hiss, though. Probably got lucky.

The hiss is the Bluetooth automatically searching to connect. The hiss goes away after about 20 seconds. I have the iloud micro. Hopefully they fixed it. Really don’t need Bluetooth anywau

I’ve not seen anything to suggest they are much different than the mk1s - I only just got a pair. I don’t like to put down support but it appears that they have about a 5 year life span. It’s a shame they didn’t offer any updates to the previous spec that are still on sale. All products do go legacy but these are on the pricier side and looks like they don’t get much support after a few years. Not saying there is much wrong with the version 1s but I’m sure some may feel a bit upset that there was not a discount when we bought the mk1s only a few months ago. On the flip side if you want a pair don’t wait because if you leave it they will bring out something new again.

Gotta be honest though.... I have 11 of them in an immersive setup and absolutely love them. My other other monitors for reference are Barefoot MM27s Gen2 and Footprint 01s.. The MTMs don't have the SPL, however ... they punch way above their weight and to be honest, they don't need to be any louder, especially if you're mixing 8-9 hours a day.

"but these are on the pricier side" considering monitor prices, these are cheap

Great review, thanks🙌🏻 For the mix & master of bass house songs, which of these or the Focal Alpha twin do you recommend I buy as the main monitor?🤔

do you need to be running the X-monitor every time you want the sound corrected? Or do the speakers store the correction filter (and modifications you may add) once calibrated through the X-monitor?
@TheGaragebandGuide3 ай бұрын
They store it. You only need to set up with the ARC mic once, the sound profile is stored and used even if you don’t have the speakers connected to your computer.
@jakeah11753 ай бұрын
If you switch off the arc do you then get zero latency instead of 2.2ms extra rtl? I wanted to track guitar with as low latency as possible but mix with arc…
@TheGaragebandGuide3 ай бұрын
@@jakeah1175 will depend on the audio interface you have them attached to, though you should probably consider tracking with headphones anyway.

A bit disappointed that they haven’t made the ARC iOS compatible. IK should know better by now, I mean if they’re going to put “i’ in the name.

Yeah, would have been a brilliant addition.

Why call them monitors, they are speakers, where does that term come from?
@TheGaragebandGuide4 ай бұрын
It’s a weird one, isn’t it? ‘Studio monitors’ are usually specifically designed to be used in a recording/mixing environment and are usually designed to priced as flat a frequency response as possible.

@@TheGaragebandGuide ...Which makes me wonder how a "monitor" that has frequency controls / filters in it's internal path can still call itself a monitor. Not doubting they're good though.
