The Best Homemade Deer Attractant Ever

In my many searches for ways to improve my chances for hunting i came across a few videos with cheap easy homemade attractants to help bring deer in and keep them coming back. This being one of the cheapest and easiest made it a must try.
And damn! it works...
Very affordable, with all the ingredients being able to be picked up at the local dollar store, and grocery store. Quick and easy to mix up without a mess, and very easy to store away for future use.
Ive since tried a couple alternative recipes, but all based on this one, and all close enough to the original to know they should work (example: cobalt salt instead of table salt, or packaged juice mix instead of koolaid)

Hey bud,yeah it's your bro. Got a couple suggestions if you don't mind. First off, the dead log. Great idea but u should also make a small pile at the end of the log, besides on the top. Next, remember when we used to use that deer cocaine stuff. Take some of your mixture and dump it on the ground. Then add a little bit of water onto it. Just slowly pour over the small pile on the ground. That'll give it a bit of a head start. Good video though. Keep it up bud.

I would also clear to bare dirt around the log and pour it around the log on dirt also that way it leeches in ground

That is a cheap, funky and cool attractant!! Is there a way to solidify it into some form of block, then set it out to see how long it'll last based on that exact formula?? Great idea btw! 👍

I haven't attempted a solid form, but you've given me ideas on something to experiment with... i may not have a sollution/answer by this fall but will do my best to come up with something

i found i was topping it up about every two weeks... with that amount. so yes i agree with you completely about the amount/duration. in regards to your other comment in regards to clearing the ground around the log, what i did was waited until the first top up and the deer had it torn up pretty good.i like the idea of it being more their idea to tear things up. Both very good points to anyone else watching this for what they can do when trying this stuff, and for me when i set up future spots... Thanks for watching and commenting your thoughts on it

If you really want to attract deer I would plant Red clover, white clover, alfalfa, buckwheat and canola. I would also make a natural mineral salt lick with diatomaceous earth. I imagine that your going to attract a lot more raccoons than deer 🦌
