Best horseshoe game of all time. It's a shame Brian didn't end up with the victory cuz he was so far ahead at one point in the match. But eagle eye being the GOAT that he is went robot mode.

140 tosses... wow. Whats the most you have had in any match of yours?

Before 1982 games were 50 points so they lasted longer. In 1976 in the final playoff game for the Jr Boys world title against my brother Jeff, we pitched 180 shoes. I had 162 ringers to lose which is a record for the highest losing ringer percentage (90%). He had 163 ringers!

@@walterraywilliamsjr3964 That is absolutely mind-blowing to find out you once upon a time... had to toss 180 shoes... with 162 ringers... and you could still lose. Man alive.... shoulders must have been utterly exhausted and after tossing that many ringers... just disgusted with the outcome. Even with bowling... you're not throwing 180 bowling balls without a break. So it's absolutely incredible to hear that sort of sports fact. My father, when I was young(43 now), built some horseshoe pits... Brought in some contractors to make it precise and accurate... up in Buffalo NY. Winter is a no-go on that sport... but in the summer we would have entire picnics around the game... I don't recall that many shoes being tossed per game... but then again... my father wasn't a 162-ringer kind of guy ...neither were his opponents from what I recall...heh. Thanks for the reply... It means more than you know. Stay safe out there and I look forward to seeing your next video.

@@therealhonestraider7921It was the 9th game of the day. I think I pitched over 1000 shoes for the 9 games. That doesn't include practice (easily another 50-100). We finished around 2 am in the morning after starting at 5 pm if I remember correctly. I averaged over 86% ringers for the tournament pitching from the men's distance. My brother won his 2nd Jr title averaging over 87% ringers. During the round robin we had a 162 shoe game which he won. And he won the first playoff game in 128 shoes. I think he averaged over 90% for those 3 games. I used to be really, really, really good. Now I'm only good.

When you say that many throws(1050-1100)... I am thinking of a rotator cuff surgery I may need... post that many throws. On a serious note, that must have been a crazy tournament to have been in. And when YOU say you're "only good" now... that's still better than 99.99% of the rest of the sports world (concerning Hshoes and rolling). Just saying! Having only been bested by your brother... The family name retained the title. I dont know about you... but my brother would have been taking shots at me for the rest of our lives though... if he ever beat me...and he has! @@walterraywilliamsjr3964

@@walterraywilliamsjr3964 Hah... since "good" is a relative thing... you're at least two "really" goods compared to me even if you had to alternate left and right hands. If you had to throw with your foot I'd beat you... so there's that. :) My old pair of soft Ted Allens haven't seen much action since the 80's though.
